Another country on the "Don't travel" list.

"But the UK and US governments have both issued security alerts over travelling to Colombia amid fears over crime, terrorism, civil unrest and kidnapping - and Harry's decision to visit comes amid his ongoing battle for his security when in Britain.
The UK's Foreign and Commonwealth Office 'advises against all but essential travel to parts of Colombia'. And the US Department of State issued a travel advisory for Colombia stating: 'Reconsider travel due to crime and terrorism. Exercise increased caution due to civil unrest and kidnapping. Some areas have increased risk.'"

Perhaps he thinks this is the way to get his security reconsidered? Personally I'd say the opposite.
If he still had UK security I'd expect them to do a risk assessment and say "NO".
Why should security personnel be put at risk by being required to travel to these dangerous destinations.

I used to work with somebody whose girlfriend was Colombian. They went travelling together and he explored the country with her. I was curious about it as you hear it is unsafe. He said some parts are unsafe and even his girlfriend didn’t feel comfortable going into certain areas. But otherwise it’s a beautiful country and the people are lovely. He said it helps to speak the language (which he did, fluently) and would recommend a guide (in his case his girlfriend).

Do you know where else is safe to travel to? The United Kingdom 🇬🇧!

At this point, I'm actually open mouthed that they still think they have something to offer, other than being the prat formerly known as Prince and his oh so pushy wife.

Yes there are large parts of Colombia you wouldnt be wise to visit - This pair wont be anyware near any of them.
There are also large parts that are as safe as London (!) provided you stay sharp and given they wont travel anyware without a secutity team they will be more than fine.

Unless someone decides to make a statement and decided to directly target them because of their "fame".

Strange choice at the moment given whats going on next door, but then that garners more attention I suppose.

This. It's a bit 1999 to think Colombia is a dangerous no-go area.

Parts of it, yes, but the majority of the country is absolutely lovely. Been to Colombia 10+ times and all over, nothing's ever happened.

They can’t complain and whine that the UK is dangerous to travel to yet the next day announce they’re off to Colombia.

And less of the faux indignation that Colombia is seen as unsafe for travellers.

I see this thread is having a normal one.

IMO it is a strange choice to go to Columbia- a country where they have no ties or current projects. It will open them to accusations of being cash for appearance grifters. Quite the fall from grace.

I genuinely find this sort of stuff distasteful. Both of them need to get some class.

There's no disrespect to the people of that country.
