@AliceOlive - that whole article just screams paid puff piece!

DM say the polo event only had authorised media present. So we can probably assume Backgrid were authorised, rather than lurking in the bushes or pretending to be stable hands and waiters.

I did too.
Mine were from Avon - the lady next door was an Avon lady and I used to feel I had to order the odd thing.

I can't remember where mine were from - I actually do still have them but I wouldn't be seen dead in them!

I just took a delightful trip through time googling Avon black enamel and gold vintage earrings. My mom had a pair and I still have them.

That's all great (for her) but as long as I live, I fail to see how it deserves credit!
