(or for the MN purists, Catherine) The most high profile and popular member of royal family has not been seen since Christmas. I do think it's quite strange and so many rumours from the foreign press. And before anyone starts jumping down my throat about her having hysterectomy / crohns / ad infimum / I've had both a hysterotomy and half my intestine removed and was back in work within a 8 weeks.

I would think she isn't very happy about a photographer being there

I'm on nothing at all. My take on the photo is that both women look grim. I happen to think Kate and William are separating and this photo does nothing to suggest otherwise. How that's deranged God only knows.

Do you expect them to say ‘cheese’ when they see the photographer?

It does look grim. It reminds me of the one of William driving away from hospital after visiting Kate. The car-front-seat format has been used a lot in semi-arranged pap shots. The press get one photo of a Royal in the car and then leave them alone for an arranged period of time. Because as a PP mentioned, they must have access to tinted windows, unmarked vehicles or sit in a backseat if they didn't want to be spotted.

And all this goes to show that (even if this was an official photo, which obviously it isn't) that making the PoW more visible doesn't help. It just allows idiots to speculate even more wildly.

Nothing wrong with my manners! I'm not the one speculating with complete nonsense about one single snapshot.

And I have absolutely no desire to be seen as a supporter of the royal family. I am a complete republican.

But this is a human being we're talking about here. She deserves her privacy. And not all this voyeuristic, speculative (and actually pretty offensive) nonsense.

Smiling photos behind the wheel of a car are more unlikely than two blank faces. Most people drive with bored shitless faces, never mind two women who are probably most concerned what is going to happen on CBB. The reaching some people do to fit a narrative is ridiculous

Seems to me that the ruder posters are full on Royal supporters, and are trying to defend the indefensible sometimes, thus get frustrated with logic and normal comment/questioning!

I think speculation about the state of anyone’s marriage is both rude and crass. There are plenty of posters who think it’s ok when it’s someone they don’t like, though.

Also - Carol just has one of those faces that if she's not actively smiling she looks quite stern. Photo below was her papped on her way to visit Baby Charlotte just after she was born - and she looks like she's on the way to the dentist.

BIWI with respect there is something wrong with the manners of someone who suggests that another polite poster is on drugs and /or deranged.

Actually, the thing I find most concerning about this is the desire by some posters to see/prove that something is wrong and awful things are happening to Catherine.

That really isn't pleasant and not normal at all.

Obviously it's not simply the photo. The point is purely that the photo does nothing to rebut the rumours of things not being happy/ impending divorce.
