The royal family

Okay , I'm just going to say it... where is Kate Middleton?

(or for the MN purists, Catherine) The most high profile and popular member of royal family has not been seen since Christmas. I do think it's quite strange and so many rumours from the foreign press. And before anyone starts jumping down my throat about her having hysterectomy / crohns / ad infimum / I've had both a hysterotomy and half my intestine removed and was back in work within a 8 weeks.

Helpful advice? , that is not what it looks like ! , unhealthy? What are you implying here exactly?

Is it heard to understand?

Nope. I would gladly never hear from them again. They are a pair of self righteous hypocrites, who have a dangerous agenda to attack free speech. They also speak from both sides of their ever willing to talk shit mouths. And their silence in the face of the very thing they campaign about and monetise is incredibly telling. My original question of "why don't they..." was rhetorical really. It's obvious why they won't, and maintaining a dignified silence is not it.

Not liking (at no point have I said hatred) strangers whose lives and nefarious works are laid out for all to see, and who are seeking a foothold in US politics and the policies of big tech, is speaking from a place of having looked into them on a deeper level than their frivolous coverage in the tabloids.

I don't think the above is healthy but you can disagree 🤷🏻‍♀️

People often research people they don't like if it might involve politics as that affects everyone.

How is Harry (or Meghan) going to affect US or UK politics?

When a group of posters are new

And I'm not new...

But we are talking about Harry & Megan?

Yes, who have become involved in politics and policy relating to social media and freedom of speech. As well as other political matters. If you don't follow them beyond the superficial/celeb stuff they do, that's fine, but don't attack me as "insane" for basically reading what's in the news about their political activities, and looking into the ramifications of it.

On the royal topic you are , unless you have changed your name .

If people are tagging me and talking about me, and saying unpleasant things aimed at me personally, it is not obsessive to respond and ask you to clarify. It is simply inquisitive and asking you to justify your attacks on me.

I didn't realize you had such a strong aversion to people saying "unpleasant" things.

"Why don't the anti online bullying campaigners, the Sussexes, and man who specifically keeps claiming to love his family (despite evidence to the contrary), Prince Harry..."

"... give lip service to online bullying - together with his efforts to restrict free speech - when it affects him only, or someone he can use to further his own agenda..."

"They are a pair of self righteous hypocrites, who have a dangerous agenda to attack free speech. They also speak from both sides of their ever willing to talk shit mouths. And their silence in the face of the very thing they campaign about and monetise is incredibly telling."

Harry recently made a speech in Canada to the First Nations representatives, if this is not interfering in politics that has nothing to do with him , what is?

Bit weird to come on a thread about a totally different subject though, and basically shout “HARRY AND MEGHAN! Why aren’t we talking about Harry and Meghan instead! Let’s stop talking about Kate’s illness and focus on HARRY AND MEGHAN!!!”

Especially when you say you’d gladly never hear from them again. Stop bringing them up, if you don’t want to hear about them. This is a thread about Kate, not them. Nobody is interested in talking about them here. Start your own “HARRY AND MEGHAN: THEIR NEFARIOUS PLOT TO INFILTRATE US POLITICS” thread if you want to talk about that.

I've been on quite a few Kate threads the past few days, I don't pay attention to what board I'm on. is that ok with you?

The Irony of it! 😆

Ditto. Plus I'm pretty sure this one started in Chat and has been moved. I may be wrong on that.

It may have been, but it was in the royal family topic , when I saw it.

Quite but maybe that's a thing on the Royal boards? I don't know as I'm new here!

Is there a number of posts one needs to have been made to join the club.

I was here a lot last year when a lot of posters were failing to understand that Queen Consort wasn't a title specific to Camilla and that her being Queen Camilla was in fact entirely normal and expected. That was fun.

The Invictus Games are being held on First Nations land next year (Lílwat, Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations). He was speaking to the hosts, as part of a publicity drive for the games. Sounds like a major part of his role as Invictus Games ambassador to me - I don’t know if you live, or have ever lived, in Canada, but this kind of meeting is absolutely expected if you are using First Nations land for an event. You can’t just waltz in and use their land without paying respects to the local leaders first.

The royal family topic , is shunted off to the side , any posts are moved here quickly because of complaints.

Oh gosh guys, American here for those that don’t know me. I didn’t know Easter comes at a different time for you in England. Is it the same for Scotland and Wales? I know about Orthodox Easter but not “English Easter”

I learn something new every day!

It's not and "English" easter, it works the same throughout Europe, the place that was celebrating Easter before USA existed. It falls on different dates depending on lunar phases.

DriftingDora · 03/03/2024 13:25

No great fan of the royals here, but for goodness sake, they said she'd be off until after Easter, so leave the woman alone. I'd hate to work with some of the people who've posted, they must be so intrusive if a friend or colleague's off sick and doesn't want the details broadcast on News At Ten.

People are allowed some privacy, you know, even if royal - how would you like it? Find something else to do - like read a book.

Edited to agree with a previous poster: and what's all this 'Kate Middleton' crud? She's not Kate Middleton any more.
