Looking a little uptight and exasperated when the collar is put on Charles and then the cloak? I didn't notice at the time but on sky re run I can see William looking uncomfortable and even impatient??

Let's have a 🍷 and forget it. Smile

Moving on...

I was going to keep it to myself but I did think William seemed a bit uptight. The papers confirm he was in fact late because he and his family should have been seated when Charles walked down the aisle. So William and Kate had to walk behind Charles down the aisle. Wonder if people-(myself included) did pick up on a legitimate stressy mood in William. Could have been to do with being late or a disapproving look from Charles perhaps.

@Inkanta thanks!!

Yes the order of service said everyone would be seated before Charles and Camilla walked down. So maybe William felt in bother or a bit ashamed.

Ginnybaby · 07/05/2023 18:15

Charles sat in the carriage for a few mins, he also commented that they, as a family, could never be on time. By the time William and Kate got there Charles was already going forward

I too thought Penny Mordaunt did a cracking job. She refused to wear the traditional male garb as she is the first female in the role, and had her outfit specially made. It was stunning.

Yes me too, she was one of the stand outs of the day for me.

One of the papers quoted a lip reading as saying Sophie Edinburgh remarked to Kate on the balcony that it was a shame Louis wasn't wearing his shorts and William said he didn't want to wear them, so I wonder if a five-year-old's getting dressed tantrum was the reason they were late - we've all been there!😂

smilesy · 07/05/2023 18:35

Ffs! They may well have been some irritability due to timing issues or whatever,(From what I have read, it was “royal watchers” that are being quoted by the papers. So hardly reliable. I have equally read that Charles was early 🤷‍♀️), but it was a huge state occasion so that is completely understandable. It is hardly the big issue that a lot of the drama llamas on here seem to want it to be 🙄. The whole thing seemed to go quite smoothly, given there were horses, carriages, children, complicated lines to be read and lots of potential wardrobe malfunctions thrown in to the mix 😂

Inkanta · 07/05/2023 18:56

It was quite significant to not be sat down prior to Charles' big entrance. It might explain the specific tension in William some of us picked up on. Yes the ceremony went smoothly though.

I agree with you here. He was probably thinking too that his mother had gone through this at such a young age and of course the sadness of her death still. It would have been a connecting moment for him. I remember when I had my first child thinking that this must have been how my mother felt when she had me. So many emotions at this events and with the RF all played out in public.

Or that the one person who would really have understood what he was feeling was the one person who could never be there because she had to die for him to be there at the altar.

Harry has been proven to have made a number of untrue assertions in his book, he has even admitted it.

Specifically, which things has he said are untrue? I've actually read the book.

One example off the top of my head is the way he claimed he learned of The Queen Mother’s death….. and there was a claim of getting a particular games console before it was invented…..

Samcro · 07/05/2023 19:13

Off topic a bit, but saw Kate on the news on a walk about at Windsor. Small girl got over whelmed ( can’t spell that) and cried, Kate gave her a big hug so cute

He talks about playing Super Mario... that was definitely around in the 80s and 90s. He's a few years younger than me. People really are grasping at straws just because monarchists can't stand that he's upset their little fantasy.

RatatouilleAndFeta · 07/05/2023 19:29

Late was smiling at the choir because she enjoyed it! I agree that it's weird the way other people were just sat around expressionless.

Kate & Will-I-Am weren't late they went there from BP behind the Madges in another gold carriage!

RatatouilleAndFeta · 07/05/2023 19:30

Kate! Not late. Obvs.

They were late apparently. Not that it matters.

No aparantly they were on time and Charles was early.

StormzyinaTCup · 07/05/2023 19:47

Charles was early I believe.

The report says different. Who knows. Don't really care, I only linked the news article that''s all !

smilesy · 07/05/2023 19:55

Whether Charles was early or the Waleses were late, it really did not make any difference to the ceremony. If posters had not said that the order of service stayed that the Waleses should be seated before he arrived, I doubt anyone would have noticed. I certainly didn’t. A very large mountain is being made out of a molehill. Anyway, we have seen orders of service being altered at the last minute before. Commonwealth Service anyone? 😂

RatatouilleAndFeta · 07/05/2023 19:56

@Roussette how could they have been late when they set off all together from BP?

polkadotdalmation · 07/05/2023 20:02

I wonder how any of us would feel when we had millions of people worldwide looking at us and were terrified of fluffing things?

polkadotdalmation · 07/05/2023 20:02

All this tedious nitpicking. Worse than the DM
