Looking a little uptight and exasperated when the collar is put on Charles and then the cloak? I didn't notice at the time but on sky re run I can see William looking uncomfortable and even impatient??

I thought they were all nervous but did a great job. I also think the cue cards are important because even if you rehearse it 250 times, you just might slip up. It's such a solemn occasion, so cue cards should be used as a matter of formality. My favourite post on this thread is about the poster's son complaining about the 'Jesus stuff'. I agree with him and it made me laugh reading that.

I was enjoying the reflection of how mortified Rees-Mogg must have been that she was getting the limelight and not him, given that he was President of the Council until last year.

That really is nonsense. It was an intrinsic part of the ceremony which they would have rehearsed. There was no recoil. They clearly do do tactile between themselves, despite the nonsense Harry writes. I'm always reminded of that clip of Diana hugging Harry and William on returning from some Royal tour - if you see the whole clip, Charles hugs them as well, but it's rarely shown.

Unless your a part of the RF yourself, I don't see how you're in a better position than Harry to know what the reality is.

Harry has been proven to have made a number of untrue assertions in his book, he has even admitted it. It was written with a very obvious agenda so I wouldn't take anything in it as true without objective proof.

The video I've linked about includes the shot of Kate at the end and she's just smiling. I don't recall any different footage of her during the choir.

Just to clarify my post earlier, I wasn't singling out any one person for sniggering / eye rolls re the gospel choir or the Pastor but I noticed it both times. It wasn't actually Kate I noticed but more minor people (whose names I don't know, sorry). Of course, badly mannered 'ordinary' people also do this during weddings but aren't on TV in front of millions so we can't comment on that. Given the singers & pastor were black, & the RF has been accused of racism previously & recently by the Kings own son, I would have thought suitable public expressions would have been important (even if not genuine).

I agree with you here. He was probably thinking too that his mother had gone through this at such a young age and of course the sadness of her death still. It would have been a connecting moment for him. I remember when I had my first child thinking that this must have been how my mother felt when she had me. So many emotions at this events and with the RF all played out in public.

I've met him and he was totally civil but I do know people who work for him and they say he borders on abusive and I have no reason to disbelieve them. Yes human but also shouldn't be put up on a pedestal pretending he isn't.

Surely the gospel singers were there to be enjoyed? I was surprised how many people sat with absolute po faces when they were given such a joyous performance. She wasn’t smirking, just actually appreciating the wonderful performance.

William was taking his duties seriously. Louis was fabulous as were all the other children.

Anyone care to take a pop at Justin Welsby?

Re your last paragraph - it did cross my mind that of all the participants, Welsby was perhaps the one who could/should have learnt his lines? Just saying😄
