Looking a little uptight and exasperated when the collar is put on Charles and then the cloak? I didn't notice at the time but on sky re run I can see William looking uncomfortable and even impatient??

I have tried to find this but can't. The online recordings I have watched don't show Kate at all. Maybe cut out showing OP is right?

So what, every single recording captured and posted online has been cut to only show The Princess of Wales smiling warmly at the performance. Given the vitriol spouted against the RF and the fervent hunting out of clips proving how horrible they are, I'm surprised the clip showing her 'sniggering' isn't all over the internet, and hasn't been posted on Mumsnet repeatedly.

Or maybe, you know, it's not there because it doesn't exist.

William is deeply unpleasant and anyone who works in the household would tell you the same

When Charles was walking back down the aisle past his family who were singing god save the king, why didn’t Edwards children bow/curtesy? Everyone else did, not sure about Harry but they didn’t.

They probably just forgot their stage directions for that bit.

rattymol · 07/05/2023 10:55

Maybe Edwards children think it is a load of bollocks?

WTF!

Directly responding to a particular remark you have made (and quoting your remark) is not stalking you!

It's why the ability to repeat a person's post exists!

What is your problem with that?

RustyBear · 07/05/2023 10:58

In the Order of Service, it has the robe being put on before the stole (which is what the ‘collar’ is called). William put the stole on Charles before the robe was put on - maybe he was realising he’d got it wrong.

I don't know about that but I did note that during both H&M's wedding & during the coronation that the Pastor & Gospel singers were (the most?) genuinely joyful & exuberant parts of the occasions. I am from a CofE background so love that tradition but I was captivated by both the pastor & the gospel music. Captivated as I was, it was hard not to notice the po-faced / amused / eye-rolling from some upper class members of the congregation.

Yes, I noticed that at the time as well. It goes to show that you can have lots of money, and no class.

Yep I saw it too at the wedding when the American bishop was giving his sermon. Not at the coronation though. But I really didn’t take my eyes off the gospel choir.

Like the one where many did let themselves down by sniggering during the preachers speech at Meghan and Harry’s wedding. All but the Queen and Kate behaved like children. Sniggering away: William, Charles, Camilla, Beatrice. Eugenie in fairness looked pretty straight faced.

rattymol · 07/05/2023 11:09

Exactly. Other recordings have been cut. And the royal family have the final say on what can be shown about the coronation.

But the RF don't have all the recordings of the event taken by randoms looking for something to beat the RF over the head with. If there was footage of Kate 'sniggering' it would be all over the internet. You can't 'find' it because it didn't happen.

I saw it live, and I saw Kate’s face during the performance, and there was no sniggering going on. The only time this happened was in the minds of people who have a dislike of kate and William, and have decided that a smile equals a smirk or snigger, a serious or anxious/stressed face equals a grumpy mean face.

I would imagine bullying staff would have leaked out. Or resulted in high turner over. Which is no more than average for office staff who take a job for prestige and a leg up because it’s badly paid.

Yup, the most thats been said about William is he can have a bit of a temper at times but is generally a nice boss to deal with. Have not heard any stories of him making staff cry.

Please explain how you think this happens. Does the royal family have technology that can crawl through the internet and delete the images? What about my DVR, I might have recorded the coronation. How would they delete the images from that box if it is not connected to the internet?

Morestrangerthings · 07/05/2023 11:23

LIZS · 07/05/2023 09:25

Does it matter? Maybe he recognises that public appetite for anachronistic ritual is waning.

That’s exactly what I was wondering.

And did anyone else see George when he was standing with his back to the wall do exactly the same thing DiAna used to do with her mouth - sort of push her closed lips to one side and back again? I always thought it was her ‘when is this going to be over?’ look. For a moment George looked just like Diana. I did wonder if George was thinking that this was going to be him someday? I know some people would definitely disagree, but I’d wish him a more normal life than this.

UK broadcasters battle monarchy over control of Queen’s memorial footage

Palace has said TV channels can only retain an hour of footage from events during the mourning period

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2022/sep/25/uk-broadcasters-battle-monarchy-over-control-of-queens-memorial-footage

Coxspurplepippin · 07/05/2023 11:31

Totally irrelevant. The recording of the service yesterday was being sent out live. Anyone can record the recording - it's obvious people do so they can trawl for the slightest misstep - not one piece of footage anywhere shows Kate 'sniggering'.

Charles was in the middle of the coronation service. Do you think he had a microphone in his shirt and a teeny tiny screen so he could watch the recording as it was being made and instruct the camera crews to not show certain pieces as they were happening?

MamoruHisaishi · 07/05/2023 11:33

But those shots that the palace wanted to be scrubbed off the internet because they found it to be embarrassing to the monarchy (like Charles and his pens) already went viral and those clips were shared numerous times. What a poster here has suggested is that there may be video footage of Kate ‘sniggering’ while the gospel singers were performing, but had been edited out by the royal family. This is despite having seen it live for myself that nothing like this ever occurred, and if it did, that moment would have gone viral (like what happened with Charles), and therefore it couldn't have been easily removed from circulation even if the royal family wanted to.

notsayingmuch · 07/05/2023 11:41

Er, Rousette, I am asking how the royal family will delete the recording made from my digital video recorder? Thanks for the article, but I don't think it will explain what I should be awaiting. Will a Beefeater come around and wrestle the remote from me, or will it be more stealthy??!

Did every one collude to not showing it live then, and it actually happened the day before so the King could cut and edit it?
