Prince Harry’s Short Coronation Trip Is ‘Massive Diss,’ Friend of William Says

No doubt many will see Harry’s actions as an admirable demonstration of his devotion to family duty if he does choose this course of action.

In some quarters of Buckingham Palace, of course, running out of your dad’s big day to attend a child’s birthday party might be perceived not so much as a noble devotion to paternal obligations as an almighty “Fuck you!”

I found the a child line particularly disgusting, Archie is Harry's son, if he's leaving as soon as the coronation is over to make it in time for Archie's birthday, that's fantastic not something to deride by this so called friend.

Prince Harry’s Short Coronation Trip Is ‘Massive Diss,’ Friend of William Says

A pal of Prince William tells The Daily Beast relations between the brothers are “so bad they are nonexistent,” but William would be happy for his father that Harry was attending.

Spoiled brat- And that’s Harry.
The RF are dysfunctional, but Hairy and his wife have grown fat off selling stories about a family they profess to despise- Yet STILL they want the “Tidles” and Netflix material.

ItsTrueLou · 21/04/2023 14:35

H&M have 10 years until Charlie Boy retires, and William will shut the door on them. With waning popularity and their money-making being based around their royal status, it shouldn't be too long before they are downsizing, and she returns to her acting career while he does the US circuit as an after-dinner speaker. Instead, of being private individuals and prudent with spending using their own eco credentials to lead the way, they set up an entire royal office of staff in Santa Barbara, costing a small fortune, along with a ridiculously large home which they clearly can't afford to keep long-term without fresh cash in large amounts .... then want to be taken seriously!

Do you use punctuation marks to show glottal stops in British accents when you post, or is it just American accents you mock?

@ItsTrueLou what does this diatribe have to do with the briefing in question?

LOL, Tidles are theirs forever, nothing can be done I fear.

🤣🤣 you could have started a new thread - this has nothing to do with what the OP asked

PreparationPreparationPrep · 21/04/2023 14:55

He can't please everyone OP. If he had stayed longer it would have been a different problem.

2 days - 3 days, 1 week. He has a life elsewhere now, so is popping back for the family event.

Going back early for your sons birthday is a very good reason. He is here for the main event, that is good enough!

H&M should continue to do what works for their family.

Fuck me, is there no end to the queue of people who want to stir the pot? It’s like primary school gossip.

”One of your friends told Tom that Harold dissed Willy! No, I’m not telling you which friend, in case you tell on them.”

SOMumm · 21/04/2023 15:13

tatalan - I don’t think Harry is being any more disrespectful than usual.
I think he must be thick skinned and hard faced to attend.

Diarising the date of Charles Coronation for Archie’s birthday was a move worthy
of Machievelli, Sun Tsu and the Borgias combined. Of course he will head back directly, as planned, a man easily manipulated.

ItsTrueLou - Charles may not last 10 years with his high bp.
I also wonder if Camilla the trouper will have had enough by then.

In five years,
William and Catherine will be 45, (George will be 15) an ideal age
to move up, mature, shrewd, popular as William is.
Harry will be forgotten by then as the grandchildren and great grandchildren
grow up and become more prominent : sad but inevitable.

tatalan · 21/04/2023 15:21

@SOMumm that's why i wish he didn't even give them 24 hours, oh well.

I think the birthday and possible party is an excuse.
My DGS's birthday is at the end of August, so his birthday party is always in July, because all his friends are away on their holidays, etc
I suspect Harry knows that members of the RF will be wary of talking to him, in case anything they say is twisted and repeated on various channels such as Oprah/Netflix/interview/Spotify the following week.

tatalan · 21/04/2023 15:31

@milveycrohn it's the best outcome for all then, even if it's an excuse. I'm just confused as to why the 'friend' has gone to the DB to complain about it.

Archie will have many birthdays - Harry’s father will have but one Coronation
Harry is betwixt a rock and a hard place
on the list of stressful situations, we have
death
divorce
Coronations
offering an alternative viewpoint on mumsnet
moving house
the hamster escaping

The papers have to fill pages and also want as much clickbait worthy material as possible.

Reporters are constantly emailing, phoning and tweeting to everyone they can possibly link to the core royals - friends, acquaintances, staff, former staff asking for comments.

People are not ‘going to the papers’ with stories - they are getting hounded for comments so that the press can beef up their stories ahead of the coronation.

Daisiesandprimroses · 21/04/2023 15:36

I don’t think harry is being hard faced to attend, I actually believe he genuinely loves his father and doesn’t wish to cut all ties. So wants to be there to support , at least briefly. I know Harry’s behaviour is appalling, but I think In this he’s going as he doesn’t wish to sever all ties with his dad. He’s not staying longer as it will be too hard for him now, too awkward. I think Charles would be very hurt if harry didn’t come at all.

as much as we can all look at harry and think how awful, in reality he’s Charles’s son, and whatever he does, like many parents, Charles will still love him deeply.

Everyone noticed that as much as Charles got a bit of venom served by Harry, he was let off very lightly, and what harry didn’t say was Charles and him were actually very close growing up , that’s why Charles didn’t get too much damage done and that’s why harry is coming for the ceremony. He loves his father. He’s just too stupid to understand that if he hurts those who Charles loves, and the monarchy, he hurts Charles.

my personal opinion is charles would like nothing more than his grandchildren to come too, just not to the ceremony due to age and lack of experience in that situation, unlike the other royal kids who have been doing it from birth, and I suspect he’s sad not to be going to see them.

there is clearly more going on in the back ground with harry and Meghan, she is never visibly supporting him any more, never at his side, when she used to be surgically attached, so I suspect there is more than we all know about going on.

This isn’t a glottal stop. It’s an alveolar tap.

Nice try, though.

tatalan · 21/04/2023 15:47

@Daisiesandprimroses eh, Meghan's only being seen twice this year. Once with Harry so i can't say i think anything's going on. Great points overall though.

I know the Royals have nothing exciting or interesting about them but even so it's just mind boggling. 🤣😆
The Times even has an article about how Harry has betrayed Camilla and how she's a boss queen etc. Yet they said Meghan tied Harry and has her way. Basically they want Harry to dump her or treat her badly. Camilla actually evicted Harry. She turned his room into her closet even though there were tens of other rooms available.

I don't think it's abnormal, she's seen less, ergo seen less with him. We didn't see her for a stretch of over 100 days last year. There was an article written about it 😅

We've not seen her since early March and three months before then. I think she's just staying close to home, looking after the kids etc

Where is Meghan Markle? 104 days out of sight!

Last September, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made their dazzling return to the world stage for the first time since they left England in 2019.

Why do people refer to him as Harold? His name is Henry.
If he didn't go back for Archies birthday people would moan his being a bad father. Can win either way.

It's just since his book came out - he revealed that he and William have nicknames for each other - he calls William - Willy, and William calls Harry, Harold.

People have just run with it after that.
