Prince Harry’s Short Coronation Trip Is ‘Massive Diss,’ Friend of William Says

No doubt many will see Harry’s actions as an admirable demonstration of his devotion to family duty if he does choose this course of action.

In some quarters of Buckingham Palace, of course, running out of your dad’s big day to attend a child’s birthday party might be perceived not so much as a noble devotion to paternal obligations as an almighty “Fuck you!”

I found the a child line particularly disgusting, Archie is Harry's son, if he's leaving as soon as the coronation is over to make it in time for Archie's birthday, that's fantastic not something to deride by this so called friend.

A pal of Prince William tells The Daily Beast relations between the brothers are “so bad they are nonexistent,” but William would be happy for his father that Harry was attending.

If that’s the worst they could find to say about Catherine then she must be pretty nice! 😃

No she's a cold harridan who was sniffy about lending poor little Meghan lip gloss.
(Despite being a messy slattern, I would never share my lip gloss with anyone or use anyone else's)

Exactly. Very trivial.

It’s amazing how such a trivial incident makes people froth

Who's frothing? Apart from Harry and Meghan who obviously thought it was worthy of inclusion in Harry's book. As pp said, if that's all they have on Kate, she's obviously a very nice person. In fact Meghan said as much in her interview with Oprah.

It was Harry doing the frothing.

Also when Kate lent her the lip gloss she wasn't to know she was going to apply it to her hand first. For all she knew she may have been about to use it on her lips. Thats definitely something that would make my nose crinkle

polkadotdalmation · 24/04/2023 19:45

And she probably forgot it 5 minutes later, until Harry rehashed the non story in his book, with the slant (no doubt from Meghan as Harry wouldnt even have noticed lip glossgate) that Kate was snotty about it.

I think the main reason he’s leaving so early is to avoid the social bits of the day. I mean, it would be incredibly awkward with most of the family giving him the evil eye or ignoring him.

I assumed this - as it must be a bit awkward,

However I'm now reading/hearing suddenly everywhere there may be tax reasons- possible he may get hit with a tax bill if he spends more than 16 days in UK - which as he is engaged in multiple law cases I assume he may need to be over.

I just find it very odd suddenly that's everywhere as a reason - he want to get home to his child birthday party and look there a tax reason not to linger in UK.

How is it actually possible to do both though? Jet lag and time differences surely mitigate against it? The time it takes to travel to California also being a factor. I don’t believe for a minute he’s going to be able to attend both in one day.

Magistar · 26/04/2023 10:49

The lipgloss thing is a red flag. Meggie thought she could have little mind game with Kate and she did. I know women like that, Kate was clever to be wary.

In the end, Meghan has done the Princess of Wales a massive favour. Kate has learnt from bitter, bitter experience with Meghan how to deal with difficult people. It will have toughened her up and taught her to always trust her gut. This will be useful when she is queen, she will be nobody's fool.

I think the birthday been moved to next day - but as everyone been pointing out the many issues with this reasoning then suddenly tax reason is everywhere.

It's probably better for all of them to have a plausible reason I suppose rather than we can't all get on and be civil for one day on a state occasion.

Yes, it's definitely a type.

Blip · 27/04/2023 07:26

I think when Harry attends he will experience a "massive diss" himself when he has to sit ten rows back and the only subject anyone will engage with him on is the weather.

Roussette · 27/04/2023 07:33

Who cares? It's not about him, there's too much going on with this massive Coronation thing to worry about where Harry is sat! It's not a social chat to your neighbour event and get to know them!
It's all very serious and the concentration will be on special oil under canopies, religious leaders, oaths, investiture, sceptres, orbs and crowns, chants and choirs. I doubt the camera will be scanning round looking for Harry whilst this is all going on!

No doubt Harry Will care

Roussette · 27/04/2023 07:49

It's irrelevant whether he does or not. Except to fire up MNers on threads.

C1N1C · 27/04/2023 07:50

The child won't even know!!! Harry is being extremely selfish prioritising an early-years birthday of a child that won't even remember the day, over his father's most important day of his life. It's one day.

If I get my presents a day after Christmas, if my holiday is delayed a day, big deal! He owes his entire life to his family, without them he'd probably be dead in the army by now as some nobody, yet he can't spare one day after all the hurt he's caused them?

Roussette · 27/04/2023 08:26

You do realise don't you, that he is attending the Coronation? Have you missed that?

this
sadly people are upset he is not going to hang around to be pictured standing alone whilst sophie and Zara scowl at him.
he is coming and will be there for the main event. if he stayed longer he would be called a bad parent for missing his childs birthday.

After 3 years of mud slinging at his father do you think he really cares? Sadly his father still loves him so harry will milk that as much as possible. He is a despicable excuse for a man.

polkadotdalmation · 27/04/2023 09:26

Fortunately he will be sat in the cheap seats and have very little attention paid to him.

Roussette · 27/04/2023 09:39

Harry will not feature at the Coronation. I have no idea why posters are so worked up about it.

I am amused that the poster thought he wasn't coming but using his boy's birthday as an excuse though!

If Harry really wanted to be with Archie for his birthday, both he and Meghan would have accepted the invitation to the Coronation and would have brought the children over as well.

They could have left the function as early as they pleased to see young Archie. Archie misses out on a children's function with cousins and on seeing his grandfather, the King, who set a date which made it really logical for the whole family to cross the Atlantic. Harry is abusing his kids by not allowing them family contact.

The clear snub by Meghan (and leaving the children home and far from their grandfather) speaks volumes as to how mean spirited they are.

And if she had people would say she was making it all.about at ,the women literally can't win ,what ever she. does it's wrong I don't blame her for staying away
