The royal family

Sussex's snubbed on both sides of the Atlantic

Harry and Meghan will be invited to the coronation - by necessity - but this toxic pair will be kept at a careful arm's length by all and sundry, excluded from the balcony or carriage procession, and probably positioned somewhere suitably inconspicuous. Most of the family will be wary of them, most will wherever possible avoid them and the crowds will likely boo them. There will be no lucrative photo ops with William or Kate. The Wales children will be in the limelight, but Harry and Meghan's children will be excluded, due to age.

Meanwhile, over in the States, where they no doubt expected to be feted when they planned their dramatic departure from the UK, opinion polls reveal them to be less popular now than even Prince Andrew. South Park mocked them to general acclaim and The Cut published a contemptuous piece about the possible relaunch of the Tig last week.

They've been snubbed and excluded from every big social event, from the Met Gala to Obama's birthday party and Elton John's Oscar's bash. The only parties they have attended have been those hosted by social pariahs like Ellen de Generes.

They are coming across as increasingly desperate and embarrassing. It's hard to to see any possible comeback from here.

Why is Ellen a social pariah?

MarshaMelrose · 18/03/2023 11:48

They didn't attend certain events but that doesn't mean they weren't invited. I don't believe that Elton John didn't invite them.

feathermucker · 18/03/2023 11:57

Jesus Christ, who has the time to think so much about stuff like this.

thaegumathteth · 18/03/2023 11:58

Coming across as desperate and embarrassing- terrible Hmm

Well, you, I guess, since you took the time to open the thread, read the op and write a response.

chickenshavefeet · 18/03/2023 12:03

This kind of post makes me laugh - you obviously hate them so stop posting about them - the opposite of love is not hate - it's indifference.

FWIW - I don't believe for a second that they are unpopular in the States - only in the small bits that the Daily Mail chooses to highlight.

I don't hate them, tbh I find them highly amusing in their ridiculousness :)

I'm discussing some topical issues relating to some royals, can't see the issue to be fair. Certainly more relevant than some of the recent threads on this board

If I never read the word "snubbed" again, except possibly in the context of the shape of someone's nose, it will be too soon.

It's one of those terms that you never come across in real life, like "briefs" for football tickets (this is possibly an exclusively Scottish redtops usage).

DojaPhat · 18/03/2023 12:11

Now that you've got that off your chest do you feel much better? It must have been eating at you throughout the night. I'm glad you're relieved! Similar to when you take a massive dump and feel a stone lighter!

ChangedmynameagainforChristmas · 18/03/2023 12:11

But you are not discussing anything. You are stating a lot of unfacts ! You must really hate them

ChangedmynameagainforChristmas · 18/03/2023 12:12

They re not unpopular in the states btw - it's the opposite in fact

PreparationPreparationPrep · 18/03/2023 12:13

Oh OP really? I'm sure your friends will be along soon.
I hope those who aren't anti M&H will have more sense than me, Grinscan your OP, move on and not indulge you.

Why is Ellen a social pariah?

Because she has been exposed as a toxic, vile bully; who gets off on public humiliation

Port1aCastis · 18/03/2023 12:30

Oh dearie me Kate please behave and play nicely

HeadNorth · 18/03/2023 12:31

Oh dear OP. Don't worry, I'm sure the like minded obsessives will find your thread soon. To anyone with any sense of perspective you sound uncomfortably invested in a family that you don't and will never know.

BellatrixLestrangesHeatedCurlers · 18/03/2023 12:37

I'm an interested republican (Irish) and I have a lot of sympathy for Harry, his book was nothing like that portrayed by the tabloid press, but I find this comment strange. When has Kate ever not "behaved", if anything, she is criticised for being too "proper" isn't she?

Oh gawd sorry, just ignore above, I haven't had enough coffee today 😀😁😚

xJoy · 18/03/2023 12:42

I don't hate her but I like to be able to have an opinion without being labelled a hater.

She could have done so much good if she'd stayed in the royal family, she could have brought attention to a lot of worthy charities but she's back at her real level, ''influencer'' resurrecting the Tig.

But unlike Gwyneth Paltrow, I don't think she has the influence. It'll be interesting to see who her target audience with the tig is. Will she be able to 'sell'' the expensive wines, restaurants et cetera

Fragrantandfoolish · 18/03/2023 12:50

Not sure why the op is getting a hard time. If any of you don’t wish to discuss it then no one is forcing you to come on a thread and post something bullying and mean. Hope it all makes you feel better.

op, I agree with you, it’s went badly wrong for them and I’m unsure how they can fix this. Please don’t take any notice of anyone posting bullying mean comments, they aren’t worth the effort
