It doesn't matter one bit that she wasn't/isn't famous! The story is what sells. Harry made it a story as soon as he talked about it in his book! One line or three, it doesn't matter. He talked about it, and sex sells, so the press was going to go looking.

Yes it would have been an even bigger scoop had it been a celebrity or someone of some 'standing'. Of course. But the press doesn't care one way or the other, and neither does the public.

I can understand Elizabeth H coming out, as she is already famous.
No one knew who this woman was. No one cares.

I've seen quite a bit of press coverage around it - due to Harry writing a few line in his book making it news - then the press wanted her side which then comes is another story of how his version differs to other's.

He made it news.

Ironically, if she had waited till some tabloid blackmailed her, she would have exposed that blackmail story with another publication - and that would have been a more juicy story (get how these things work?).

No - they all tend to use same tactics so often stick together to protect said tactics and wider industry - and at same time there does exist a history of papers finding out rivals have an exclusive and trashing the story often by going after person giving exclusive.

They are supposed to be behaving better after phone hacking scandals - but this woman like me in in her 40s will have seen decades of witnessing UK papers getting away with some poor behavior - trying to be "clever" like this would likely blow up in your face - she got her side across comes across well gaining some sympathy and possible got some money and the whole thing dies down quickly for her so she can get on with her life- best possible outcome for her really.

She was just 19 and only two years older than this 'boy'. A boy who also happened to be a prince and the son of her boss, the Prince of Wales.

So we're hardly talking a mature woman taking advantage of some naive child. The power imbalance was all in his favour.

They never dated, they shagged. Yes, a 16yo consensually having sex with a 19 yo is the same as a 36 yo man having sex with a 39 yo woman

Well quite- I said earlier in the thread if he had been 18 not 16 I would be getting predatory vibes - so in that sense notanotheroneagain is right 16 isn't 30 and his behavior can be chalked up to being 16 including the ghosting after and not something more sinister.

It was just over 2yrs. And no, it's not.
When I was 16/17, we were all looking at dating 18 and 19yos. It's a pretty normal age gap.

It’s really a very normal age gap, either way around.

Girls, especially, are often more attracted to/interested in boys slightly older than them at that age, because boys their own age are often a little less mature and behind in emotional awareness.
