In totally totally unsurprising development.

Taliban says Harry killed civilians

“We checked and found that the days on which Prince Harry is mentioning the killing of 25 mujaheddin, we did not have any casualties in Helmand,” Taliban leader Anas Haqqani told Al Jazeera on Friday. “It is clear that civilians and ordinary people were targeted.”

Well, Harry's opened the floodgates now; essentially he's wrong-footed himself and given the Taliban licence to take the high ground.

Broadswordcalling · 07/01/2023 15:15

I can not fathom how Harry is so blind to his own stupidity, not just in this context but all of it. He's an embarrassment to the Country.

PicturesOfDogs · 07/01/2023 15:20

He is so stupid. How could have not known the Taliban would hear about it and start commenting 🤦‍♀️

AllOfThemWitches · 07/01/2023 15:22

Coz we trust the taliban?

RambamThankyouMam · 07/01/2023 15:22

Or maybe he didn't kill any. That's likelier. I hardly imagine a member of the royal family would have been out there on the front line.

TheRubyRedshoes · 07/01/2023 15:23

He's already a target for nutter's because of who he is.

That's increased since the Megan debacle and now ...he's offered himself up as target no 1 surely to anyone who takes a fancy to him??

I would be terrified if I was Megan?

AllOfThemWitches · 07/01/2023 15:22

Coz we trust the taliban?

It doesn’t matter whether we trust what they say or not, they will inevitably claim this sort of thing to try and give themselves the moral high ground. Harry is a twat for having opened himself up to this

HirplesWithHaggis · 07/01/2023 15:26

I haven't read the book, but does Harry give specific dates, times, and location co-ordinates?

JamSandle · 07/01/2023 15:28

We obviously can't take the word of the Taliban as truth.

Coxspurplepippin · 07/01/2023 15:28

I'm sure he didn't kill any civilians but what a surprise that the Taliban have tried to turn this to their advantage.

I hope Harry has a friend or two with him at the moment - he must really need one.

AllOfThemWitches · 07/01/2023 15:22

Coz we trust the taliban?

It’s not about trusting them or not.

He’s just given them a reason to go off again

notanotheroneagain · 07/01/2023 15:29

Are we supposed to feel sorry for the Taliban now?

Who was Malala Y to the Taliban? And lots of other women they brutally killed?

Also can the British press put a stop on their faux outrage about numbers and take Harry statement out of context. He was not 'bragging' about the numbers.

Harry wants his security paid for. This will now mean the threat to him is higher and therefore paid security more justified. He's not as daft as he looks on this one.

He ducking is, as he’s put a target on his children’s back to make a point.
As well as the RF, and potentially any spectators at the coronation. He’s much much dagger than he looks

I hope they don’t allow him in the country, and say he’s too much of a security risk.what a twist that would be

I bloody hope not! He's a prize A idiot for saying such things anywhere let alone in print across the planet - whatever money he's made needs to be invested in his safety for him and his family, this is HIS doing, nobody should be paying for him and his greed, stupidity and spitefulness

OliviaBean · 07/01/2023 15:34

I am beyond gobsmacked that PH spoke about killing 25 Taliban. Whatever about his own family, clearly he and his wife thought leaving this in was reasonable but what pisses me off is that he has potentially risked the lives of others in the military not to mention innocent civilians who the Taliban might target as revenge. It's not as if the Taliban need much justification and they wouldn't be known to be reasonable people.

There should be serious uproar about this, spill your guts about every detail of your private life but putting the safety of others in jeopardy, you utter utter p**ck.

35965a · 07/01/2023 15:34

Harry is an absolute idiot. I can’t believe nobody said to him ‘maybe mentioning kill numbers will upset a lot of people and put you and your family at risk.’ Maybe he didn’t care?

notanotheroneagain · 07/01/2023 15:34

Also, no one had a problem back in 2013, before Meghan, about the media splashing front page with his kills. See was 'hero prince' then.

Nor is it not discussed the number or kills you make. It would be traumatising too take a life and Harry acknowledges that he could not think of them as human, otherwise he would not have been able to do his duty.

Are we supposed to feel sorry for the Taliban now?

Who is suggesting that? The point is that an organisation like the Taliban will twist what happened and say that in killing civilians, it is Harry who is the villain, regardless of whether what they say is true or not. That is blindingly obvious 🙄

Broadswordcalling · 07/01/2023 15:15

I can not fathom how Harry is so blind to his own stupidity, not just in this context but all of it. He's an embarrassment to the Country.

He's much worse than that.

He is a security risk.

Snippedasababy · 07/01/2023 15:38

I don’t believe this will reverse the decision to pay for his security. I think it’s more likely he would be asked to stay away from larger events, as he increased his own level of risk.

It’s really obvious to most people, that Harry’s decision to put this in his book would give the Taliban free reign to claim all sorts.

No one is feeling sorry for The Taliban. Not that I can see. But Harry brought this on himself.

TheRubyRedshoes · 07/01/2023 15:39

He's put a huge target on his back. It's unbelievable.

Minimalme · 07/01/2023 15:41

That's chilling.

He has created a link between himself and the Taliban and out his family in danger.

It doesn't matter exactly what he said or whether the Taliban have made up their response.

The fact is that a book he wrote has given The Taliban a way to target Harry.

I would be shitting it. He is utterly reckless and unable to function in the real world.

headstone · 07/01/2023 15:42

I doubt he killed anyone either, it’s part of his fantasy and recollections may vary. Will it make him a target? possibly, however crucially he didn’t mention the religion therefore he may get away with this one.

GrasstrackGirl · 07/01/2023 15:42

I'm sorry but if anyone believes the Taliban then they are an utter idiot.
