@prh47bridge

It's in a private house-Ghsilaine's(?) & suggests some level of friendship?

She has her arm around him. Speaking for myself, if a woman puts her arm around me for a photo, I will put my arm around her. Not doing so would be uncomfortable and would look odd. This photo doesn't tell us who put their arm round the other first. So no, I don't think it is evidence of friendship. It is evidence that they had their photo taken together and possibly of the location where that happened. It doesn't prove anything else.

Are you a man or a woman/

I'm a man but sex is irrelevant for the point I was making. If someone, male or female and regardless of age, puts their arm around me for a photo, I will put my arm around them. Anything else would feel awkward and look like I don't want to be in the photo.

MayThePawsBeWithYou · 07/02/2022 15:27

It doesht matter if you are male or female. Maybe most people would see this as a happy relaxed photo wherever and whenever it was supposed to have been taken

Monopolyiscrap · 07/02/2022 15:33

Yeah I thought you were a man not to understand the way Andrew has his arm around her is a very intimate gesture.

She has her arm around his waist, he has his arm around hers.

I know some people of both sexes regard an arm around the waist as intimate, many people of both sexes regard it as a gesture of friendship. My view is that, when it is a pose for a photo, it is pretty meaningless. I have had many complete strangers put their arm around my waist for photos when I was in doing a job that meant lots of people wanted their photo taken with me.

I'm a woman and agree with @pnh47bridge, who, frankly, has been a voice of sanity on these threads and whose views ought not be dismissed on account of his sex, which makes no odds at all. I have a very old picture of me and some colleagues where we all have our arms around each other's waists. Not an intimate picture in the slightest, especially given that it was taken in the kitchen at McDonald's.

Prince Andrew was not present, as he is more of a pizza connoisseur.Grin

Two women having their arms like this fine. An older man around a young teenage girl is very different.

I’m sorry I think you’re trying to make something of nothing. It’s just a picture of a young woman having a picture taken with a celebrity. In itself it doesn’t indicate anything at all.

You wouldn't like some photos of me that are in existence, then.

I used to volunteer in my spare time for a role that involved wearing a uniform and brought me into contact with the public. From time to time people would want to have their photo taken with me. Teenage girls with their friends would often put an arm round my waist to have their photo taken. I would always respond by putting my arm round their waist. So there are photos of me in my 40s and 50s with my arm round various teenage girls' waists. In every case, I had met the girl just seconds before the photo. The entire encounter would last less than a minute. No intimacy involved.

The nearest any of these encounters ever came to intimacy was with a married woman nearer my own age while her husband took her photo with me, but that is another story (and not relevant to this thread!).

Monopolyiscrap · 07/02/2022 21:08

@prh47bridge yes that is inappropriate behaviour.

prh47bridge · 07/02/2022 21:39

If I was putting my arm round a random teenager's waist, I would agree. But for a few seconds for a photo when she has put her arm round my waist? I think you will find that most people agree with @ABitBesottedWithMyDog, @PinkTonic and me.

I too agree.

Honestly, that photo, if it is genuine and we can't tell, means nothing.

ajandjjmum · 08/02/2022 07:02

All it tells me is that Andrew looks a little uncomfortable and VG excited to be there. I appreciate that is not the whole story.

Vapeyvapevape · 08/02/2022 11:21

A photo is just a snapshot in time, there's no way of knowing if , for example, VG was encouraged to put her arm around him or the other way around, we don't know if they both wanted to or felt uncomfortable doing it, we don't know if they were kissing before or after or if she pulled a disgusted face after- we just don't know. All the photo proves is that they had their photo taken together.

That's absolutely right, and you are not allowed to take photos in Tramp where its claimed they had been before this was taken so who knows when or where it was.
Mamamia7962 · 08/02/2022 16:41

MayThePawsBeWithYou - I do think that VG is telling the truth about the photo and when and where it was taken.

MuffinStrops · 11/02/2022 13:27

Horrified by the latest allegations about him from his ex masseuse.

cathyandclare · 11/02/2022 16:38

Where did you see that muffinstops. Uncharacteristically, I've been hard at work today and have missed the news!

MuffinStrops · 11/02/2022 16:46

It’s in all the papers today

cathyandclare · 11/02/2022 16:47

Sorry! Just found it in the Independent. Grim.

MayThePawsBeWithYou · 11/02/2022 17:51

I wouldnt have gone back after the first session if any client was being inappropriate and I was there as a professional masseuse

Puzzledandpissedoff · 11/02/2022 18:07

My exact thought, MayThePawsBeWithYou
Obviously these things can be more complicated within a relationship, but there's no indication this was one - so why wouldn't she simply leave?

MuffinStrops · 11/02/2022 18:11

Yes, it beggars belief really. Perhaps she felt she owed it to SF who had introduced them.
MuffinStrops · 11/02/2022 18:19

The other thing I simply can’t understand is why SF seems to think he’s so wonderful. Is she complicit and as morally bankrupt as he is? I do wonder.
