Play nicely and don’t say anything that will get your post (or the thread) deleted. I’ll start. Archie is cute and it would be lovely to see him more often.

@OverUnderSidewaysDown really? It was a smile not a laugh and a seven year old boy. Who on earth would interperate it that way and still expect to be taken seriously

Maybe there is a clue in the fact that we are all discussing the small boy, rather than the bride who would expect to be centre of attention?

Didkdt · 31/08/2020 12:27

I suppose that's it, I hope that's wrong though because a bride who felt like that would be very low in my estimation.

OverUnderSidewaysDown · 31/08/2020 12:44

It appears a lot of people at the time thought the photo deserved meme status.

Thank you allIwant although it a poem. Somehow my formatting went a bit wrong. I blame my broken screen on my iPhone.

YouSayWhat · 31/08/2020 14:03

Many years ago I worked in PR. A
U.K. based global name. We did Mattel toys, crisps and Cadbury’s. Sometimes there was a cross-over campaign strategy in the Mirror to help joint promotions between accounts. Not a lot though.

To be honest, I don’t think PR agencies would have done that sort of thing then, more like theatrical agents.

I then worked in publishing and I’m racking my brains to see if we ever featured our authors together. I don’t think we did, not even at Edinburgh or Hay.

Maybe times have changed, maybe this is the way celeb PRs/agents do it things these days. Young ‘ins, heh?

Argh, you see I meant to say that it wasn’t a poem but my phone changed it as I pressed Post. It isn’t a poem, and the formatting went strange. Clearly my posts are not to be taken at face value!

YouSayWhat · 31/08/2020 14:29

There was a young couple called Sussex
Whose paternal line ran to Rex
They had a fight
And saw the light
And now live in LAX not LEX.

Is that better? Edward Lear would be so proud. There’s a name for this type of poem but I can’t remember it / can’t be arsed to google.

Samcro · 31/08/2020 14:31

@YouSayWhat

I still lurk but I much prefer the other place. We are respectful of other people’s opinions, things are resolved if things become too heated and we self police quite adequately, thank you. It’s where the grownups are.
pmsl. do you mean the "grown ups" who rip posters from here apart?
MissEliza · 31/08/2020 14:44

Why do they deserve success? I hope they become financially independent as I can't stand spongers but don't know what they've particularly done to deserve it.

YgritteSnow

Meghan and Harry deserve success.

*Why?

What have they done that makes them so deserving?*

It's an enigma, that's for sure.

Flube · 31/08/2020 15:16

I take it this is somewhere other than the place where mums chat?

I can't understand why you would give it traffic if it's such an awful place tbh. Anyone would think you want posters to find it.

Love the poem @YouSayWhat. ⭐

No one.

JaJaDingDong · 31/08/2020 15:40

Anyway, I’m confused. Has Harry always been as equal a fan to Rugby League as he is to Rugby Union

I was confused too, so googled: he's the patron of the rugby football league and he's vice patron of the RFU.

Flube · 31/08/2020 15:41

Why has my post been hidden? Hmm

I only said that as mainly a lurker on these threads, samcro appears to mention the other place frequently. And I can't understand why give it traffic if it is so awful.

Flube · 31/08/2020 15:42

*as mainly a lurker - meaning me not samcro

its one of those weird things. you know someone is being childish and you should ignore. but you can't stop your self looking. that said I have now as its really not a nice place. but when people spam mn and say how nice it is there. someone has to call them out on that.
Roussette · 31/08/2020 15:48

She didn't mention it. She posted in response to YouSayWhat who brought it up originally. As I did. YouSay is the one giving it traffic ...

meercat23 · 31/08/2020 15:51

Samcro can you say what is not nice about it? From time to time there are some pretty vicious things said to posters on some threads here. I have to be honest, I have seen very little of that in the other place. On the other hand it is possible to post views that other may disagree with without getting deleted. If someone posts an opinion that others find unpleasant they can and do say so but generally it is possible to disagree without unpleasantness.

Samcro · 31/08/2020 15:57

meercat23 Roussette seems to be the main target at the moment as you well know, I have seen so nice stuff said about me and others that don't say it their way.
on mn is someone makes a PA if reported its deleted.
i have not seen any PA's left to stand on any of these threads.
