Two little bits of news I read today. First the bells won't ring out at Westminster Abbey for Meghans birthday next month and she'll be devastated. No I don't think she'll even expect them to ring. And I had to smile at Bogart the dog was left behind in Canada because it didn't take to Harry. What else could she do. Hardly leave Harry behind. And it would have been a worry with a baby in the house too. She did the right thing here.

Many many years ago there was a really stupid thing in a women's magazine called "Engagement Roast Chicken".

Not sure is this had anything to do with the story? It's even mentioned in the updated article above. Seems to be more widely known in the USA as many food websites and blogs also have their own recipes for engagement chicken.

I've just re-watched the engagement interview.
They raved about how welcoming his family had been - used words like 'absolutely amazing,' 'wonderful,' 'incredibly supportive.' Harry's actual words were, 'William was longing to meet her and so was Catherine.' 'The family together have been absolutely a solid support.' My grandparents have been wonderful throughout this whole process.' 'The whole family have come together and been a huge support,' and Meghan repeated, 'they've been ama-a-a-zing.'
Oh, and the ring: "it's perfect."

Crystalpuff you may have actually hit the nail on the head. H & M didn't want to reveal the actual proposal story so MM, having heard of engagement chicken, thought of the story.

I always thought the 'proposal over roast chicken' story was horse shit.

To be honest I think Omid Scobie and his co-author probably think they have written a very supportive book supporting HaM and have completely misread how their actions are perceived by the majority of people. This has backfired spectacularly.

Aren’t they still on ‘probation’ as well? Didn’t the Queen give them a year’s grace period and that they could renegotiate or change their mind during this period? I think they can kiss any chance of reconciliation goodbye. It wouldn’t surprise me if the RF say ‘you want independence? Here you go! No more money, no more titles, no nothing’. Luckily HMQ is very gracious so I cannot imagine them going that far but they must understand that there’s no coming back from this. They will be banished from the innermost circle now. I just don’t understand how they’ve imploded so spectacularly!

Perhaps Scobie and Durand plan to milk their association with members of the Royal family for all it's worth. Burning bridges as they go. Oh the irony.

This has to be it. Scobie has been up front about his supportive stance towards them for ages now. It would be an incredibly long con for the book to be intended as anything other than supportive of them. I think it has just been really misjudged.

I'm not sure about that - they're making William and Kate look sensible, responsible and committed to their roles in comparison. No idea what H&Ms strategy is though - where on earth are they going with all this?

This roast chicken thing...I am sure that I have read previously that Kate makes roast chicken for William because it’s his favourite meal. Curioser and curioser.

What is the current lockdown situation in LA? Have things tightened up again?
Just wondering what on earth they are doing all day. I mean, they haven't been papped recently, out and about, so I presume they're not doing any of the nice stuff they do on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills there is to do there - lazy lunches in nice beach-front restaurants, for example.
If they're confined to barracks, then I fear for their mental health; I mean, it's bad enough for most of us, in a familiar country with limited access to loved ones. How isolated must they be feeling right now?

The latest lawsuit says Archie hasn't been to Malibu so photos couldn't have been taken there. So I don't think he has left the house and grounds. I would assume they are staying home other than for the dentist, food delivery trips etc when they've been papped. On that basis they could certainly have been better quarantined at Frogmore.

You have to be right but it’s not supportive at all. It makes H&M sound really petulant, entitled and hard work. So if that’s showing them in a good light, what are they really like?!

Her ex has kept quiet. Which I find admirable as I bet he could name his price for some ' gossip' from some quarters! Interesting about the chicken connection though! .. It did sound far fetched , but I liked them both back then so I went with that one even if it sounded a bit strange to propose whilst cooking a bit of dinner! The mail are churning out the stories today!
