No surprise there, then.

Do we think he'll hold out for the threatened subpoena or will the renewed public spotlight mean he jumps before he's pushed?

@WeHaveSnowdrops

If Andrew had sex with the woman who is accusing him no law was broken, as I understand it. She was of age to consent in the UK.

What exactly do the FBI want, does anyone know?

Is is just a fishing expedition?

She was trafficked.
Puzzledandpissedoff · 03/07/2020 23:37

No, I take it back; like a fool I read the post as Epstein being photographed alongside Maxwell

So instead what we've got is an alleged sex abuser and a pimp ... oh dear

AfterSchoolWorry · 03/07/2020 23:38

@CathyorClaire

On the upside though I expect Andy has had a miracle cure for his medical condition.
Yeah the slimy fucker will be sweating buckets now.

“They were larking about on the thrones, doing regal waves,” said the source. “Ghislaine sat on the Queen’s throne with Spacey pretending to be the Duke of Edinburgh. No one can recall if Prince Andrew was actually in the throne room at the time but he was in charge of the visit.”

If Prince Andrew wasn't in the room, who was in charge of the tour? Who allowed them to sit on The Queen's thrones? Who took the photo and how did it come into the hands of the Telegraph?

A few things I'd love to know about that picture.

Epstein also visited several royal residences

Yes. Both Sandringham and Balmoral.

I can't avoid the suspicion that PA is being used as a lightning conductor to attract attention away from far bigger fish in the US and elsewhere.

It's difficult to see what he would actually be charged with - Virginia Giuffre was over the age of consent and I think received some kind of payment - at least in kind. The whole thing looks incredibly bad and PA is guilty of incredibly oafish behaviour - but we knew that anyway.

All of which makes me wonder if he's just being used to distract attention from some very prominent heads in the US. The whole thing stinks, and I'd love to know what was found on that island.

I can't avoid the feeling that ultimately very little will happen to any of them.

CathyorClaire · 04/07/2020 12:43

So Spacey's a mate too. PA really does have odious taste in friends and associates.

He also seems to see fit to use BP for private fawning whenever it suits - see Harper Beckham's princess party. Although we're assured no money changed hands Hmm

I wouldn't know about the Telegraph, but why should there be any doubt that Andrew went along with the whole thing? Given his mother's carefully arranged "two fingers to the nation" when taking him horseriding and to church when this first blew up, isn't it obvious she'll sanction him doing precisely what he wants?

This whole rotten family really are utterly unaccountable; the PR spinners may try to pretend they care what the public thinks, but push them at all and the rigid finger appears all too quickly

Puzzledandpissedoff · 04/07/2020 13:02

Virginia Giuffre was over the age of consent

Again, the issue isn't so much her age as that she was allegedly trafficked
If that's so, it wouldn't matter if she was 40 - it would still be a crime to have sex with her

Roussette · 04/07/2020 13:26

And different states have different ages of consent so I'm really not sure that she was?

Taken from a news report...
'Ms Giuffre claimed in court papers in Florida that she was forced to have sex with Andrew when she was aged 17, below the state’s age of consent. She was then called Virginia Roberts'

FannyCann · 04/07/2020 13:29

My oh my. With friends like these....

Though funnily enough I actually believe this defence.Confused

"If there were girls in the house while he was there, he would have thought they were servants," Ms Goldman said from her home in Philadelphia. "All these people thinking he is evil are just wrong. He is just the kind of entitled person who sees everyone as a servant."

What were trafficking laws at that time? I'm not a lawyer or anything, but all that stuff feels fairly recent.
Puzzledandpissedoff · 04/07/2020 17:47

I honestly don't know, Nandakanda - you'd need a proper lawyer for that Wink

Birds of a feather & all that

I can believe that of him as well.

Andrew was pictured with Virginia Roberts in 2001 and there is a US Act from 2000: The Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA)

Thanks Mummy

Alan Dershowitz will have a complete meltdown about this... he was strongly and emphatically denied everything. Far more emphatically than PAndrew has ever done
