Now here is someone piggy backing fame off of others , paul Burrell spouting more nonsense as if he still has inside info!

yolofish · 27/01/2020 11:01

That's an opinion piece in the guardian. I've seen ages ok . Not to be taken as fact , just his opinion draw your own opinions .

ilovejeffgoldblum · 27/01/2020 11:04

Thanks yolo

ilovejeffgoldblum · 27/01/2020 11:04

Sorry own conclusions 😀

rockingchaircandle · 27/01/2020 11:12

@ilovejeffgoldblum

Yes it an opinion piece. Clearly labelled as such! Strange to dismiss it on those grounds. But he's given facts, and explained how he drew his conclusions so you can explain why you disagree it with it. Or you could just dismiss it if it cuts too close to the bone!

ilovejeffgoldblum · 27/01/2020 11:15

@rockingchaircandle
What are you blathering on about now?
Wasn't addressing you in any manner.
Was informing other posters .

ilovejeffgoldblum · 27/01/2020 11:17

Also it's only labelled as an opinion piece after it's clicked on , you didn't mention that in your post!

rockingchaircandle · 27/01/2020 11:23

Do be careful criticising the presentation of evidence in these threads, there seem to be strongly held views on the etiquette and I'd hate for you to need more PMs to get in line!

ajandjjmum · 27/01/2020 11:26

Teacher has spoken - please listen! Grin

Many people who are ‘neurodivergent’ prefer the more respectful term ‘neurodiverse’. They think the former makes them sound abnormal or non-compliant. Neurodiversity includes ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalcula etc. I’m neurodivergent and I don’t mind the term, but I do mind people lazily diagnosing people who don’t appear clever as probably being neurodiverse. Like autism, intelligence is a spectrum. Wink

ilovejeffgoldblum · 27/01/2020 11:49

The pms I received were from a fellow poster and had nothing to do with posting etiquette....

ilovejeffgoldblum · 27/01/2020 11:52

DandyAndFine thank you for that... my 6 year old son taught himself to read and write in various languages, could be a doctor but has issues with toileting.... 😐

Lunde · 27/01/2020 11:54

Are Harry and Meghan paying for the Court Case themselves? Will they have to return to the UK as the plaintiffs?

SunsetBoulevard3 · 27/01/2020 11:56

strongly held views on the etiquette and I'd hate for you to need more PMs to get in line!

Hmm
CanIHaveATiaraPlease · 27/01/2020 12:02

One of my dcs has dyslexia- I’ve never heard of neurodivergent. Every day is a school day.

I’m not keen on the way H&M have behaved towards the Queen & PC but even I can see that no father should ever ever trade on their dcs. No loving father should in my opinion talk to the media in the way he has. So damaging.

If I was Meghan I couldn’t ever forgive the betrayal.

Cuttingthegrass · 27/01/2020 12:07

Assumptions based on qualifications are not helpful. Alan Sugar has always maintained he left school without any.

kirinm · 27/01/2020 12:36

@lunde

They're called Claimants here. No one other than them and their solicitors will know the funding agreement I suspect. If their claims are successful, the court will order the losing party to pay their costs. It would be very unusual for a court to decide otherwise. Their solicitors could be working on a conditional fee agreement (no win, no fee). If they (lawyers) think prospects are good, they may do that.

Lunde · 27/01/2020 12:40

The PH A-level scandal was always very murky. The Art teacher claimed that the head of Art had required her to ghost write the texts to go with PH's paintings. The school sacked her - "the reason for her sacking, the school said Ms Forsyth was not cut out for teaching older boys " in the Eton context ". (my bold)

The teacher then won £45,000 for unfair dismissal at an employment tribunal.
"The employment tribunal investigating the claims found no evidence of cheating, but it accepted the prince had received help in preparing his A-level "expressive" project, which he needed to pass to secure his place at Sandhurst ." (my bold)

"In its judgment which criticised the school's senior management, the tribunal said: " It is clear whichever version of the evidence is accepted that Mr Burke did ask the claimant to assist Prince Harry with text for his expressive art project ... It is not part of this tribunal's function to determine whether or not it was legitimate ." (my bold)

PH also appeared to feel that he was the victim "In his 21st birthday message to the country in September, Harry commented on the accusations: "Maybe it's just part of who I am. I have to deal with it. There's lots of things people get accused of. Unfortunately mine are made public." "
www.theguardian.com/uk/2006/feb/14/schools.publicschools

In 2017 there were breaches of security in Economics and Art History where Eton teachers who were also examiners had used their positions to release details of the actual exams to Eton pupils.

MrsDoubtTried · 27/01/2020 12:48

There was such threat in what he said this morning about doing interviews as w ay to get in touch - and then he'd wait 30 days for a response, but if they didn't get in touch he'd do another one. Nasty.

Nasty? And the way he has been treated by MM is not? Ignoring him clearly didn’t work as anyone with any sense could have said. What a mess.

Now that they are gone, though, most people are not dwelling on them or the “great loss” - hmm - to the UK. They are pretty much old news, now. Somehow, I think they did not envisage that, either.

kirinm · 27/01/2020 12:50

How has he been treated? I mean, with actual evidence that doesn't come solely from him? Because I can't imagine what she would have had to do to find myself agreeing that TM is well within his rights to sell his daughter to the highest bidder AND expect her to welcome him with open arms.

MrsDoubtTried · 27/01/2020 12:51

Qualifications...

Alan Sugar is an exception and is always banging on about making it despite that. Perhaps he does so because he has a chip on his shoulder about that void in his past? That is often the way it manifests itself.

DandyAndFine · 27/01/2020 12:52

@ilovejeffgoldblum you’re welcome Flowers

@lunde that’s very interesting about the A-Level hoohsh, I have a vague recollection now of hearing about it at the time.

MrsDoubtTried · 27/01/2020 12:55

The art teacher “helping” PH was a big story. Correct.

rockingchaircandle · 27/01/2020 13:04

@MrsDoubtTried

Nasty? And the way he has been treated by MM is not? Ignoring him clearly didn’t work as anyone with any sense could have said. What a mess.

Yes. Nasty. Can't understand how people could see it otherwise. So the fair consequences of her decision not to contact her father is for him to go on national TV and threaten her?

Now that they are gone, though, most people are not dwelling on them or the “great loss” - hmm - to the UK. They are pretty much old news, now. Somehow, I think they did not envisage that, either.

???? ShockHow are they old news when there's 3 pages discussing Thomas Markle on TV this morning and it's all over the papers? You've discussed them in relation to the media in your own post! At least find some basis for your speculationConfused
