Yes, I think it's because the pair are good friends, that they happily tear strips off each other. I quite enjoy that programme if I happen to come across it. Although, I usually spend a disproportionate amount of time trying to figure out which one is which.

Just a quick point but a pp has said that there was talk of the throne bypassing Charles to go direct to William. That’s not how the monarchy works. The heirs are in order - Charles, William & then George.

I'm surprised no one has commented on the story that the Queen allegedly offered H and M the chance not to have titles and for MM to continue acting but she was turned down.

MissEliza I saw that article in the DM online. The trouble is so many of these stories emanate from the DM, who have form for twisting things. That said, very many of their scoops turns out to be correct.

If true, it doesn't in any way surprise me and is entirely consistent with the impression I have of MM based on my own observations of her in action.

With regards to the succession, while it would normally work 'in order' there's been speculation that it shouldn't. Another reason why the RF panicked at Meghan and Harry stepping away and order breaking down? Could be why they are releasing so many stories against them.

Clearly not what this is saying! It's not my post, but it seemed to me that the point was it's really nasty to be tearing into people, in this case a woman of colour, who's been targeted because of this. And that people who do this aren't worth having as friends. Surely not controversial? But if you deliberately misread something you don't have to think about! Same thing happened with a reference to new mums, or something, I think

It's interesting that having had that offer, here was the chance to accept it, hand back the titles and reset their roles. It's very telling that they didn't choose that route in the negotiations.

My impression is that public opinion is hardening against them and this definitely won't help.

If the option of not having titles and MM continuing to work was offered, it would have been the most sensible and it doesn't seem that far fetched. After all, Sophie Wessex did continue to work for a while. I have also read in various sources that the couple actually asked for the big white wedding. Because MM was a divorcee, precedent suggested ie Charles and Anne low key affair. Apparently H asked his father to get the Queen to agree to a church wedding. Of course the public were largely in favour of a big wedding.

Australia Day is regarded a national day of mourning by many indigenous Australians as it makes Cook's arrival to Australia in 1788.

He seems like a really toxic dad who has no intention to stop making money from slagging his daughter off. Most people (not on this thread of course) agree that he shouldn't be doing any interviews. If my Dad has sold photographs before my wedding, sold my personal letters to him and then repeatedly done interviews about me to some of the papers about me and then do an interview with the one man who harasses me through his twitter account and TV show, I sure as hell wouldn't ever be speaking to him again.

The Queen definitely commented on Meghan wearing white, in view of her divorced status. The wedding was the first sign that M might have another side, Tiaragate, what Meghan wants, Meghan gets, upsetting Kate over Charlotte's dress fitting, the eggless cake etc.

Even if those stories were exaggerated, there were enough of them to suggest there was some truth behind them.

Maybe they would have been wiser to opt for something small, as things have panned out.

Totally agree kirinm. If someone was posting on MN about their dad and what he was doing like TM is, the advice would be to go NC as he's totally toxic. But on here he seems to get sympathy.

Interesting timing that once again the Sussex Instagram is active on the day the Cambridge’s post a very moving montage of photos of Holocaust survivors.

I really hope that the Sussexes and the Cambridges aren't personally involved in any tit for tat posting. It would be a very low blow given the subject of Kate's photographs. I prefer to think it's over enthusiastic and rather incompetent management of their account.

I do think Thomas Markle is a loose cannon, and I can see why his daughter might be wary of him in the circumstances. There was such threat in what he said this morning about doing interviews as w ay to get in touch - and then he'd wait 30 days for a response, but if they didn't get in touch he'd do another one. Nasty.

But I do feel sorry for him. It's painful to watch him. He seems so adrift. He looks so physically and mentally unwell, and vulnerable, with his slow speech, and his sore runny eye. I saw him this morning because my daughter was watching TV while she got ready for school, but I think I'll try to avoid seeing him in future.

It’s all become a runaway train . God knows where it will end or what it will crash into. I think TM is a sick man who is bitter and hurt. He’s just lashing out now. Unfortunately the more he says and does now the less likelihood there is his daughter will ever speak to him again.
He does seem to be issuing thinly veiled threats.
