So the saga continues
Thé Canadians are not happy about paying for the Sussexes security

I think that will be their downfall. They can’t actually fund the cost of their «freedom»
Other security experts saying that the cost of 24/7 private security is about £4million per year.

Problem is; they have skipped the a Royal fold, and have to pay the real cost of their security and accommodation . They will have to sell every aspect of their Lives to fund this.

Re the BuzzFeedNews, yes interesting to see them side by side, some I think they are stretching a little bit and I certainly don’t think the uk press have given Meghan an easy time, however, whilst it doesn’t make it right it’s always been this way, once they show that they have significant flaws and rumours start circulating the press is relentless. If you are found to be a hypocrite then you will be called out and the uk press won’t stop at just that.

Kate doesn’t complain about the press but Meghan and Harry have... maybe that’s the difference. I don’t know.

GlitchStitch · 14/01/2020 12:54

'Own observations' are personal opinions about how she comes across, but apparently it's the media and twitter that influence that Hmm

I don't think former friends, family members, ex agents etc are all wrong about Meghan, no. I have no idea if the William rumours are true, but then neither do you unless you were there. I was pointing out the double standards- gossip about William posted as fact, gossip about Meghan just mean and made up.

notmoresheep · 14/01/2020 12:54

so what if it means fuck all? its social comment, we’re all allowed an opinion here. This ain’t North Korea.

Gemm83 · 14/01/2020 12:56

@BiarritzCrackers

Totally agree... The whole thing has become a bit of a soap. Just made myself laugh at the thought of The Queen as a Peggy Mitchell character!! "Get out of my castle!!" 😂

@diddl

The reasons behind the fall out. Not an individual 😊

kirinm · 14/01/2020 12:57

You're all so sure of yourself. So sure of what her motives are, what she intends to do, who is behind this that and the other. it's just pure hate coming from you all. How can you all have such deep hatred towards someone you don't know? Or will ever know.

GracefulHippo · 14/01/2020 12:58

Are the royals trying to remove the Disney Voice over video? Some Twitter users claim they are and some of the videos are taken down....

GlitchStitch · 14/01/2020 12:58

And tbh posting that Meghan is an attention seeking social climber and a bit of a pain in the arse is very different to claims that William cheated on his wife and got another woman pregnant (according to a previous thread). One claim is a view on her personality based on the image she puts across, the other is a serious allegation of terrible behaviour.

kirinm · 14/01/2020 12:59

@GlitchStitch how she comes across? Based on what? Where have you met her or are you relying on things that are broadcast about her to form your personal opinion.

You're relying on "friends" but only have one side of the story.

I don't profess to know much about her at all. I think the nastiness she seems to attract is fucking odd though.

bohemia14 · 14/01/2020 12:59

I don't hate Meghan and Harry. I don't know them. Actually I don't hate anyone. However I do hate the way they are behaving. It's not the same thing.

ajandjjmum · 14/01/2020 13:00

The first time I ever heard of MM was when Harry issued a statement telling the press to stop bugging her and her family. I didn't know Harry had a girlfriend at the time - and I do generally keep up with gossip!

Not exactly a warm and positive start.

It seems that from then on she's been complaining about being treated unfairly. I think Harry was so desperate not to lose someone who apparently wanted to marry him (after Chelsey and Cressida decided they couldn't bear the whole circus), he perhaps didn't explain everything in too much detail. But the signs were obviously there at the outset that this was no ordinary life.

In a sad way, he was always going to have to marry someone who embraced the limelight, because a shy, retiring person wouldn't want it. Just a shame that she wasn't happy to share it, and needed to be the main focus.

GlitchStitch · 14/01/2020 13:00

You're all so sure of yourself

I'm sure that I find her insufferable, yes. Based on her blogs, Instagram, interviews etc. Her own words.

TeaNero · 14/01/2020 13:01

Prince Andrew and his family must be very pleased about the latest scandal taking the media focus away from them. If PH abdicates, will Prince Andrew move up in the line of succession?

I wonder in this context as well why Kate Middleton reacted in such a visceral manner when Prince William touched her on that Mary Berry Christmas special.

At the end of the day, the show must go on for the RF and they will weather this storm too.

GlitchStitch · 14/01/2020 13:02

There are plenty of celebrities I've never met who I have opinions on, why is MM any different?

WendyMoiraAngelaDarling · 14/01/2020 13:02

I'm so very tired of every remotely negative opinion being labelled as "hatred". It's just so Twitter isn't it?

JulietJanuary · 14/01/2020 13:03

To do a comparison you would have to go back to earlier press coverage of Kate Middleton. These cut and paste buzfeed jobbies are underwhelming as evidence.

Its obvious we have a nasty press. Then for some weird reason they can pivot and start calling some celebrities national treasures.

You see it in the crazed behaviour of Piers Morgan. Joan Collins = treasure versus Megan ( She snubbed ME!)= schemer.

Take no notice of any of it and end up better informed really.

karencantobe · 14/01/2020 13:04

There are celebrities I am not keen on. But I don't understand the strength of emotion some of you show towards Meghan. Okay you are not keen on her, but to take glee on her being photographed with sweat stains? Or to think you know her and understand her motivations? That just comes across as batshit crazy.

Alsohuman · 14/01/2020 13:07

I wonder in this context as well why Kate Middleton reacted in such a visceral manner when Prince William touched her on that Mary Berry Christmas special

She shook him off. In a way that could be due to them having just had a blazing row over something totally trivial. Like a normal couple.

Butterymuffin · 14/01/2020 13:07

If PH abdicates, will Prince Andrew move up in the line of succession?
Only the monarch gets to abdicate. But he could give up his place in the succession, which means everyone else would move up one spot. That won't be something the Royals want.

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 14/01/2020 13:07

There’s no way Meghan will want Archie at a boarding school in England. She obviously despises the UK and probably despises the class system too. Although happy enough to profit from it when it suited her

But didn't reject the title did she? Loved being called 'My princess' by Beyonce. Didn't correct her did she? Didn't say 'Oh please don't' or 'Isn't it ridiculous?' Or 'Just call me Meghan' did she? And judging by the website, hoping to cling onto it clearly. Yet hates the country that gave it to her (because they're so racist they made her a Duchess). I mean what WTactual hypocritical F?

Feel sorry for the good people of Sussex. Wasn't there a petition to stop them using the Title? I imagine it would get more signatures if it was relaunched now

kirinm · 14/01/2020 13:08

@glitch entirely up to you if you personal opinions about lots of celebrities. I'm just saying there are lots on this thread that sound hateful and are basing your hate on not much at all.

mrscampbellblackagain · 14/01/2020 13:09

I just don't see how they will make much money really and that is what would worry me if I were in the RF. If Harry could do a speech about being in the army or whatever and get £500k every week then fine but seriously no one is going to regularly pay such sums to hear him speak.

Meghan is a great public speaker, well compared to the rest of the RF but she should be as an actress. But what exactly would be her special area of expertise? She is not a lawyer, she didn't found Microsoft, she wasn't the President of the US.

So where will they get their funds from as I think everyone can agree they're not going to live on the interest from their capital for very long.

JulietJanuary · 14/01/2020 13:09

Its not hatred to see what has gone on and look at their own published works and watch their interviews and draw some negative conclusions as to behaviour.

The press may be awful but they have not done this.

kirinm · 14/01/2020 13:10

@wendy - maybe you have a different opinion of what amounts to hate than others. Maybe if you want it less twitter, people should stop relying on twitter as a "source".

ajandjjmum · 14/01/2020 13:10

She's the World Humanitarian Queen - no, I don't know what it means either.

Wonder if the pressure's on Kate to agree to No. 4?!!

GlitchStitch · 14/01/2020 13:11

I've never said anything about Meghan's sweat stains Confused. I find her fake, preachy Hollywood type based on my own observations and I think she made a calculated move to increase her fame by marrying Harry. That's it. Nothing about her looks, nasty rumours about her mum, anything like that.
