Gosh Broon I'm appalled supposed to be a caring profession, hope they get prosecuted. What a tough time you're having Flowers

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 08/07/2026 15:54

Bloody hell Broon that's dreadful. 💐
I really hope your luck turns soon.

Defiantly41 · 08/07/2026 16:40

Oh Broon, how awful. So sorry this has happened on top of everything else

RumNotRun · 08/07/2026 17:18

What the @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne that's horrible!!!! Are you ok? Can someone come and be with you, in case you get upset later?

Pixiedust1234 · 08/07/2026 19:17

I am so sorry Broon, how awful! Good on you for having the strength to report it to the police. Have you made a complaint to the hospital too? I agree with the others, contact your GP for an appointment - you are still needing medical care Flowers

CatsonPollock · 08/07/2026 20:05

Awful news on top of everything else you've gone through @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne

Hoping for much better times for you soon 💐

Pudmyboy · 08/07/2026 20:11

That's awful, Broon, I hope you have the names of the perpetrators, and please don't let them blame it on medication (I am thinking you may be on anticoagulants).
Please report to PALS and the matron/ward manager, adult safeguarding too, if you feel up to it: the Trust website should have names to contact
Is anyone with you, just to keep an eye on you? I know Linney and Gizmo will but that will be with the expectation that you will be feeding them any second now....
Stay safe 💐

My (female) friend has been with me for most of the day and will stay the night on the sofa.

Police were here for two hours and are investigating.

Bloody hell, Broon! That's appalling. Hope the investigation is swift and thorough, and that you feel comfortable and safe. Are your overlords treating you well? And when I say "well", I guess I mean "no worse than usual"....

EmpressaurusKitty · 09/07/2026 21:28

Someone recommended this to me for removing cat hair & it’s BRILLIANT. Especially while Kitty’s moulting.

She’s got her booster at the vet first thing Monday so we’re practising going into the carrier for treats.

Will be making formal complaint to hospital admin tomorrow.

DD2 has downloaded the relevant forms.
I have a physio appointment there anyway, to which a friend is driving me.

I think that you all know that DH and I are back on speaking terms, and he is incandescent with rage about this.

@EmpressaurusKitty Thank you so much for the recommendation! I have just done the stairs! Got so much fur out and I only vacuumed them yesterday.

HumanToCatBeasties · 11/07/2026 16:34

I'm sorry that's happened to you @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne I'm glad you have family and friends around to help.

I'll have to order one and give it a go. Anything to help with the never ending accumulation of cat hair.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 11/07/2026 17:36

Just spotted a surprising NMP on the drive. That makes a change.

I found mine in the laundry aisle at Asda!

The cat rescue had a stall at a local fair today. It was unbelievable how many people thought it was a good idea to take their poor dogs out in 30 degree heat - our big water bowl was very popular.

I picked up 2 new friends for Kitty.

Feeling the heat today - Finlay is not happy! Managed some outdoor lap time after the sun went behind the trees and enjoyed the gel mats out of the fridge

Agatha has decided that since shouting at me hasn't changed the weather, the next best thing is to cuddle up nice and close. She absolutely must be touching me. This morning, she managed to dig her way under the sheet, so I had a toasty fur hot water bottle tucked into curve of my tummy / legs. Nice.

RumNotRun · 12/07/2026 13:19

I'm in the New Forest with Elsa the flat coated retriever, and lots of NMPs.

Man took me out for dinner last night.
It wa Wet Lettuce Man (damn!) but we enjoyed ourselves and the food was superb.

WLM insisted on paying the whole bill, and although I would have paid half, when I glanced at the bill, I was glad that WLM had insisted that he should pay the whole thing. Well over a hundred quid, and it would have been a great deal more if we'd had alcohol.

He doesn't drink very often, and I'm forbidden all booze now, because of new medication.

Still,I rather enjoyed myself and am finding WLM rather less tedious........

Do NOT fancy him but am finding his conversation less tedious.

He understandeth not classical music and readeth not the books I enjoy

But we do find some stuff we both like (mostly TV programmes)

Right, am going to dye my hair now.

Yes, definitely much more cheerful.

Even when LINNEY woke me at 6.15, demanding breakfast.
Luckily I saw the hairball on the carpet just before I trod on it

Yuk.

Are they cool bags that you have to fit Finlay into @JaceLancs?
He always looks so contented, does he ever get grumpy?
