I'm very disappointed that the storms missed us here in the East Midlands. I love a good storm and the beasties don't mind the thunder at all.

I'm very jealous that @JaceLancs has somehow managed to slipper train Finlay. I would love to know how you managed that. My latest jigsaw is full of fur and a piece seems to have gone missing, I wouldn't put it past Matilda to have eaten it.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 23/06/2026 17:52

Last night I went to bed and got very comfy.

Then Gizmo had a massive and very smelly poo so I had to get up and deal with it.

Thanks Mr G. Maybe it was his way of welcoming me home.

It goes without saying that once I got back into bed, Gizmo then had sex with my dressing gown.

The twat.
🤣🤣🤣

Linney, on the other hand, cuddled up close to me. Interesting. He NEVER does that.

On the whole I preferred Linney's welcome..........

Two lovely friends came to see me and made several cups of tea. Perfect.

DD2 came and did the washing and hoovered. DS2 rocked up with four bread rolls. So I'm being very well looked after.

Awful backache today but have taken Co-Codamol.

So glad to be home!!

Was worried I wouldn't be able to sing anymore, but all friends and family assure me I'm still good.

Used to be a member of the BBC Symphony Chorus. That's why I conduct the dementia choirs.

Hoping to get back to that next week.
Even husband says he'll drive me. He knows how much music means to me.

You can certainly rely on TC 🤣🤣🤣.

Very pleased your singing voice is still in good form - I fully understand how important that is 👍

EmpressaurusKitty · 23/06/2026 18:37

Is that more or less annoying than sex with your duvet cover?

Breadcat24 · 23/06/2026 18:40

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne good news

ShoutyCatSlave · 23/06/2026 21:37

So pleased you've still got your voice. At least the smelly poo was in the litter tray, and not your slippers..... I did wonder where that story was going, tbh..... 😉

JaceLancs · 23/06/2026 21:41

@HumanToCatBeasties not really sure how we managed it but Finlay does understand that getting his slipper out means he has to use it if he wants to stay close to us - it’s very handy when WFH most of my colleagues and DS same are used to him by now!

RumNotRun · 23/06/2026 22:39

I thoroughly recommend the cooling blankets. Mine was £21 for a double and it's like having the cold side of the pillow against you. I put it in the freezer tonight for 3 hours and it's even better. I'm trying to persuade Frank to try it as he seems to be the one who dislikes the heat the most but at the moment he's happy on his cooling pad.

Are you okay Broon? Did you use your call bracelet thingy? Sincerely hope all is well 💐

Forgot about it. Hurt leg a bit but survived .

Cats were annoyed because they wanted their breakfast and miaowed incessantly. Didn't help me up, the bastards
🤣🤣🤣

Cried for ages afterwards then phoned a friend who came and gave me tea and breakfast.

I’m glad you’ve got such good friends, @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne.

Gizmo & Linney need some training if they’re going to be support cats though!

Breadcat24 · 24/06/2026 13:11

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne I hope you are OK. I wish there was something I could do to help.
Care pack of bubblegum?
Please look after yourself. Is there any option to have someone stay with you for a couple of days?
Even the best cats cannot pick you up off the floor.
Maybe ask to have some grab bars installed so that you can reach for them if you start to fall

Pianoaholic · 24/06/2026 13:56

Sorry you are dealing with this @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne .

I do hope you can get back to your singing!

We survived the "super cell storm" here, but there were some apocalyptic scenes of floods, houses on fire after being struck by lightning , craters in roads etc

It didn't do much to cool the temperature and we are in the red zone. Herbie is flopping from place to place. He is out much more at night but when I called for him at 6am, he came trotting along with a mouse in his mouth so I wouldn't let him in!

EmpressaurusKitty · 24/06/2026 17:24

Kitty was cross at not being allowed out on the balcony this morning, but if the floor is too hot for my feet then it’s too hot for her paws. Out there now though.

Two friends stayed nearly all day.
Feeling very lucky.

Not in pain and have only fallen once today. Thankfully.

Just going to microwave my dinner. It's the remains of my curry yum yum.
