Sending picture of Herbie. Cute isn't a word I would use to describe him though!
Wishing @Breadcat24 a speedy recovery and hope @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne has no more dental issues (I have had some traumatic wisdom tooth removals in my time, plus other issues...it's a nightmare)

Argh more chaos in Mid-Argyll.

DD2's cat, Sebastian, has stopped eating and keeps vomiting.
My husband is picking up DD2 and Sebastian for an emergency vet appt.

Well done your GP, Broon!

How did the lunch go?

Edited

Actually it was fine.
Husband and self went for a drive, had a blazing row (predictably) then decided to talk things over peacefully.

We don't want to live together again but have made plans to go away for a short break.

His version of events is not the same as mine (also predictably) but we're happy to have seen one another, and he's going to do hospital and vet appts for me.

I gave him hell for not being there for me when I had that awful gynae operation and he did look very guilty.

He knows the wet lettuce man who took me and was clearly jealous that wet lettuce man fancies me.
🤣🤣🤣

Maybe husband and self can get into a FWB situation..........I'd enjoy that..........

Meanwhile, all four DC are pleased that negotiations are taking place.

Watch this space.
Grin

However, we're all worried about Sebastian the cat at the moment.
He's quite an old boy now.
Here he is, sitting on my suitcase.

Our very astute GP worked out that a medication DS2 has been on was the cause. It's one of those 1:10,000 side-effects of this stuff, so the GP lowered the dose, and the effect was immediate and positive.
That's awesome, and you must be so relieved! Do you think we could clone your GP?

Sending good luck for Sebastian and hopefully it's something silly (but always expensive) like constipation or a stuck hairball 🍀

Loved seeing those pictures Rum

It was just amazing, actually. DS2 had been in two major Glasgow hospitals, under various neurology consultants, but it was our GP who said "hang on - I'm just going to look something up - I think I know what might be the problem" and he was spot on. Yes, it was a very, very rare side-effect of this medication, but none of the top-notch neurologists figured it out.

Well done to our locum GP Dr. M!

Such a relief that there wasn't some hideous disease going on.

Sebastian has pancreatitis.
DD has loads of meds for him, and he's had various injections and a drip to rehydrate him.
She's taking him home, but they think he'll improve. If not, she'll have to take him back.

Typical cat, possibly needing more treatment over the weekend when it costs more

My cat McVicar had pancreatitis and I thought she'd die, but she actually recovered and lived many more years.

That sounds hopeful, @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne. and it’s great that you & your husband are talking.

Kitty will withdraw the scary thing from outer space.

JaceLancs · Yesterday 14:41

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne We use the Tractive tracker and have recently upgraded to the whole collar version as battery life is better
Also use an apple air tag

RumNotRun · Yesterday 14:42

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne that's great news about DS, Mr Broom, and Sebastian. I hope you carry on getting more positive news, rather than the bad stuff like leaks and toothache!

Pianoaholic · Yesterday 18:02

Anyone else's cats ever caught a squirrel?! 😪
That is Herbie's latest offering left outside the back door. I suppose it was too big to bring through the catflap.
He seems to be after larger things each time.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · Yesterday 18:07

Sebastian is home now and definitely improving. He's eating and drinking again and has stopped hiding away, looking miserable.

Here he is, and he has perked up this afternoon.
DD2 is relieved. So am I.

Well, let's hope he doesn't kill someone else's cat and bring it in.
You'll have a lot of explaining to do if he does.

And my tooth doesn't hurt much now.

The plumber came to examine my shower and has decided I need a brand new one. Yay!

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · Yesterday 18:14

So now I just have the bedroom ceiling to contend with. Oh well.
It's a housing association property so it won't cost me anything, but this has been going on since last November.

EmpressaurusKitty · Yesterday 18:16

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne, maybe ask your clever locum whether you / DS2 can review him or leave positive feedback somewhere? I bet he’d appreciate it.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · Yesterday 18:28

OMG guess what's happened now?

Linney was sick under the table, and while I was cleaning it up, I somehow managed to topple forward on to my arthritic knees. Argh - the PAIN! And it wasn't easy getting up again.

Surely nothing else can happen.........

🤣

That would be when I'd disown him! (Or take him back to Swindon where he was found as a stray).
He doesn't seem very concerned about other cats any more.
I have never had a cat like him for catching things - complete menace...

Oh Gods do I know that feeling! If I kneel down, I have to put layers of cushions and/or pillows down. And I just can't get up without something very solid for me to pull myself up on, then take about 15 minutes of heavy breathing for my back to stop screaming. I hate getting old!

EmpressaurusKitty · Yesterday 20:18

Would anyone like to see Kitty being an elephant?

Get A Compass! The Excellent Cats embrace a new rallying cry
HumanToCatBeasties · Today 07:09

I love elephant Kitty!

Broon I would like to say everything happens in threes, but you're already up to way beyond that number. I'm very glad that your GP worked out what was causing your son's problems and good news that your teeth and Sebastian are feeling better.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · Today 07:24

Kitty does a very good elephant impression 😁

I am officially old. I was playing Just Dance and felt/heard a sensation in my hip and it's been hurting on and off ever since. I thought I'd at least get to 59 before getting a dodgy hip but hey ho, such is life.

I can remember 59. I recall having a conversation with DSis & some of the nephews when we agreed that senility could only be used as an excuse once you hit 60 - I counted down the days to my next birthday.
