Lenny however needs a rest before he starts searching.

What a pretty kitty!

I'm so happy you've got her @Breadcat24

How’s DS2, @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne?

How’s DS2, @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne?

He has been moved to Glasgow QEUH.

DD2 and I visited him. He was more put out at being Nil By Mouth than anything else.

Especially when he saw that I'd brought along some ham and cheese rolls. He does love ham and cheese rolls.

DD2 and I had to leave behind our respective cats, of course.

When I got home (ten hours after I'd left) Royal Mail had left three massive boxes of Amazon stuff just inside my door, just for me to trip up on, Linney was at the window looking for me and Gizmo was fast asleep on my bed.

Plus ca change........

EmpressaurusKitty · 01/02/2026 10:33

I hope Linney gave you a nice welcome at least.

I hope Linney gave you a nice welcome at least.

Argh Linney went out at midnight and didn't come back till 1.30 am.

DS2 has regained sensation and can walk again. It seemed to happen overnight. Very strange.
Anyway - the MRI was clear so they're sending him home with instructions to phone the ward if it happens again.

It's so odd because he's never ill.

So my horrible husband has gone to Glasgow to get him. At least he's being useful for once.

But I'm left feeling outraged and overwhelmed. The kids know his address and phone number and I don't. I haven't slept since Thursday night. I've been panicking about DS2.

And my stupid husband swans in at the end, to take DS2 home.

I'm so angry!!!

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 01/02/2026 14:15

I'm so angry!!!

I mean, I'm angry because it feels so disloyal to me that the kids have his address and phone number and they're hiding it from me.

I'm not angry that DS2 can go home, obvs.

Breadcat24 · 01/02/2026 14:48

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne I think you are also so angry because you must have been a panic for the last couple of days.
Great news about your son though! Hopefully they will explore why this frightening thing has happened.

To cheer you a photo of Micia day 2. Sill hiding but in a different place!
Not running away though and she does let you stroke her gently.
She is having roast chicken for dinner tonight in excellent cat fashion

Oh Breadcat - thank you.

Micia is gorgeous! Just a little poppet.
♥️

CatsonPollock · 01/02/2026 14:53

Welcome news about your DS@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne
It must be difficult to decompress after the sheer panic and worry of it all. 💐

EmpressaurusKitty · 01/02/2026 14:59

Is it that you didn’t know they had his contact details or that they’ve refused to give them to you, @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne?

I’m so glad DS2’s back on his feet.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 01/02/2026 15:02

Very pleased to hear your DS is now ok @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne - but I'd hope there's some follow up to find the cause of it?

You're allowed to be grumpy after that much stress btw.

@Breadcat24 - Micia is indeed gorgeous.😁

Glad to hear the good news @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne

Micia looks like such a sweet girl. I hope she enjoys her chicken.

KeziaOAP · 01/02/2026 15:39

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne good news DS is ok fingers crossed he continues to be ok. Happened to my DD a few years ago got out of bed collapsed with no feeling in legs, hospital did tests including lumbar puncture, nothing conclusive was found. She hasn't had any recurrence since.

Pianoaholic · 01/02/2026 15:47

Glad to hear your DS is OK @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne.
It's such a stressful time when you don't know what's wrong.

I've always known they had his details.

It was only today that I asked DD for them, and she refused.

I'm so hurt.

That's good.
I hope this will be the case with my son.

I suppose it must feel like they are taking sides with him rather than you?

Whereas they are doing their best to be fair to both. He will have asked them not to divulge his whereabouts to you so they haven't, and it would be the same if you asked them to keep something from him. I do understand it doesn't feel fair that the offending party gets treated the same as the "victim" here, but try to see it from their point of view trying to negotiate the tangle of separating parents.

I can also understand the indignation that you dealt with the emergency, all the hassle, all the worry & all the stress with no support or anyone to share it with, then he appears after the event to have the major part in the happy ending with only a minor effort.

But at the same time great news about DS!

Roast chicken is the universal cat whispering device

Raven has found a new bed. I think she approves of the slogan.
