Yeah, right.

Linney is more suitable.

At least he's actually a Scottish cat.

Gizmo is an English interloper, who only came to Scotland in order to get behind my bathroom cupboard.

He's a teeny tiny boy, only 9 weeks old according to the vet. He was abandoned but very healthy 😿

You win - he's gorgeous 😻

YelramBob · 20/10/2025 23:09

I've called him Pebbles. He's stripey but not a mackerel tabby, I think he's a blotched tabby?

Resident cats not impressed 😱 Rosie is fuming and won't even come in the house. Kloppy is baffled and keeps half heartedly hissing at him even though I've done the slow introductions and scent swapping 😖

He is. I spent €35 yesterday on cat toys - worth every cent!

My techno-fuckwit ex doesn't understand that our phones are still synched via our shared Google account.

He will, therefore, see that I've changed the login for his repeat prescriptions app. His user name is now Total Knobhead.

And in the same vein, he will get notifications whenever I put anything in my online diary.

Today I've added:
Linney & Gizmo Vet Appts cancelled - no car, no money

Also (on Thursday)
Dinner Mike 7pm

"Mike" does not exist, of course........

Oh, and did I tell you that he's already been rehoused?

I hope it's not somewhere in this village. I'll do some digging and find out. He put loads of furniture and kitchen appliances into the Amazon basket on Friday.

I cancelled everything immediately.
He didn't realise that it would all be delivered here, to my house. Not to mention I'd be charged for it all.

Wanker.

The adoreable-ness!!
What a sweet face!
I hope you can follow him round taking many many photos.
Esme isn’t here yet: you’ll have to step into the void.

Technologically challenged is he?

learieonthewildmoor · 21/10/2025 08:17

Broon: if he’s going to be annoying and unnecessarily signal his continued existence, at least you get the satisfaction of making his plans gang aft agley.
Silver linings?
Pebbles may be a classic Tabby like Cat One. The circles on his coat break up into stripes. Classic tabbies are much more common than mackerel tabbies here. Cat Two is a classic tabby with copper tortoiseshell spots.
Pebbles looks a lot like Cat One as a kitten. I hope he turns out better.

RumNotRun · 21/10/2025 08:23

Oh Pebbles is gorgeous and clearly very innocent and will never be any trouble at all.

Tabbies are fabulous & Pebbles is adorable.

Kitty’s a tortoiseshell tabby & I learned from Italian cat-loving friends that there she’d be called a tartarugata tigrata.

@EmpressaurusKitty that is a lovely sounding name instead of tabby, but also a bit of a mouthful, potentially a tongue twister if you try to say it fast!

And if given to a cat would almost definitely get shortened to Tarty…

@YelramBob very cute indeed

Exactly!

And if he has so little idea of what he’s doing online, I bet he’s got no idea how to do a Tesco order either.

Defiantly41 · 22/10/2025 08:29

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne well done with the Amazon thing! Some advice I was given was to take him off any utility bills etc and add an extra password to them - you won’t want him advising them of his “change of address” and switching your supply to him, leaving you with the faff of setting up new deals.
You can also apply to disassociate him from your records with Experian etc - you may not want to give him the brain space but applying for your credit search with the main agencies will tell you if he has already done any of this.

That’s a really good point. I’d also change all the passwords for accounts he has access to, & set up 2 step verification so he can’t change them again.

I did that as soon as I realised that he didn't understand.
So annoying. I now have to go through two-step verification, just to order cat food.
🤣

I also deleted my FB account, which I barely used anyway. It was handy to see what was going on in the village, although the village FB page often descends into massive arguments over trivia. I think all village FB pages are like that.

OP posts:
TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 22/10/2025 10:11

And with regard to FB - he used to spend ages, doom-scrolling through it.

So it dawned on me that I could stop him from having that doubtful pleasure by completely deleting FB.

He apparently phoned DS2 in dismay.
DS2 then went through ex's phone and deleted loads of apps. DS2 also advised him to stop ordering things from Amazon, because it would all be delivered to my house.

Now here's something weird. What do you make of this: a paper bank statement of his arrived here yesterday. It was for the only account which I couldn't access online, a savings account with a cash card and a very negligible interest rate.

I discovered that in the first two weeks after he left (which is the date the statement went up to) he withdrew a total of £790 in cash. I mean, what for FFS?

He has a current account with a debit card, and two credit cards. His pension goes into the current account.

Why is he withdrawing all this cash?

And I know I shouldn't have opened the bank statement
