..... behind Gizmo, of course.

Calling all cats! Come and get some chicken.

Fingers crossed Linney makes his way home soon.

Pudmyboy · 19/08/2025 09:32

Another fingers crossed for Linney, hope the little bugger waltzes in any minute now, completely unconcerned at the fuss he has created 🤞🏼

CatsonPollock · 19/08/2025 09:47

Paws crossed Linney pops up soon. 🐾

Not lounging in the wheelchair house?

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 19/08/2025 10:00

Picard just appeared on the window sill.
I really thought it was Linney at first. They're quite similar in shape and size and are both light-coloured cats.

But it was Picard........ and I love Picard, but I want Linney to come home. I've never known Linney to stay out all night like this. Gizmo yes. He does it so often that it doesn't faze me at all. But I couldn't sleep at all last night, listening out for Linney.

Sorry, I'm havering.

What a worry, fingers crossed he wanders in soon.

EmpressaurusKitty · 19/08/2025 11:02

Haver as much as you like. Big hugs.

If he doesn’t get back soon maybe also contact any nearby rescues in case someone takes him there?

Esgaroth · 19/08/2025 11:23

I hope he's back soon, what a worry 😟

JoanOgden · 19/08/2025 11:30

Aargh Linney! Do you know how far he typically roams? Presumably you've done a turn round the neighbourhood to look for him already.

Breadcat24 · 19/08/2025 11:37

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne Hope Linney comes home soon. Can you have a pack of volunteers knocking on doors?

Yes, I've looked everywhere for him.

Will you let us know as soon as you have any news?

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 19/08/2025 15:23

He's back!

He came back while I was at the choir, at about 2.40.

He refused to eat anything though, which is suspicious. He looked absolutely fine.

I suppose he was in someone's house, and they fed him?

Gizmo hissed at him.

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne Thank goodness. Linney you bad boy. He does not smell of sardines does he?

Well, he's gone out again now.
I wasn't here when he returned.
But Pa offered him a wide selection of delicious cat food and he turned his nose up at all of it.

He wouldn't even eat a Lickelix.

I know what you're thinking, though. Linney may well have been in that particular neighbour's house.

OP posts:
EmpressaurusKitty · 19/08/2025 15:51

Thank fuck for that. I hope Gizmo was telling him off.

It sounds very dodgy of the neighbour though, if Linney was there. He must have known you were worried?

CatsonPollock · 19/08/2025 15:55

Oh thank goodness! I'd been refreshing the thread hoping for an update!

Inspect a certain neighbour for any white hairs...

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 19/08/2025 16:25

Very pleased to hear that Linney has returned. Delighted that TC could be relied upon to welcome him back properly 🤣.

HumanToCatBeasties · 19/08/2025 16:26

Very glad he's back. Hopefully no aftereffects of whatever he's been fed.

Pianoaholic · 19/08/2025 16:32

Very pleased to read the update! 😻

KeziaOAP · 19/08/2025 16:37

Phew what a relief Linney came home...........if only cats could talk 🐯

I commend the Saki short story Tobermory.
It really is just as well that they can't talk 🤣
Link to the short story below for anyone interested.

What a relief about Linney!

Love Tobermory.

If we're talking about cats in fiction (and really, why not) then Angela Carter wrote a delightful short story version of (and narrated by) Puss in Boots.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 19/08/2025 17:44

It sounds very dodgy of the neighbour though, if Linney was there. He must have known you were worried?

If it's actually the neighbour who famously gave Gizmo sardines, cream and dog food, then there's no point discussing it with him. He's had several strokes and has cognitive problems.
But if Linney stays out again tonight, I'll knock on the man's door in the morning.

Talking of cats in books, did anyone else ever read Jenny and the Cat Club. It was by Esther Averill and there were a few books I think.
Really lovely book, especially if you love cats!

He's gorgeous (but looks a bit sad)
Is he friendly?

I was too far away to find out but I’ll let you know.
