😆His teeth are fine.

Were you, or Pa Broon, or that stupid woman who picked him up, ever in doubt about the condition of his teeth?

Waves at Polly 😻

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 18/08/2025 20:12

I found out something today.

Gabapentin isn't licensed for dogs and cats, so vets decided some time ago to use the preparation made for humans, off-label, for canines and felines.

Both Pa and I are prescribed Gabapentin.

I asked our vet if I could use my own Gabapentin for Gizmo, and she said I could, as long as he only received 100mg.

Like I was going to overdose Gizmo so that I could have a more peaceful life

The reason I asked about the Gabapentin was because of the cost. We get free prescriptions and the vet charges £15 for 1 x 100mg dose.

I told Pa that we had enough Gabapentin between us to sedate every cat in Argyll.
🤣

Wouldn't it be that it's impossible to have to many cats? Not that I am having an 8th!

You know, I've just been looking at that and I think you're right.

That’s what I was thinking. Hello Polly!

I somehow missed the start of this thread! Kettle is concerned that all the chicken will be gone by now but he's been managing to sustain himself by stealing butter and yoghurt. The measly cat food rations he receives are a joke (according to him).

Hello! You look a bit like Kitty.

Polly has been with us for two months now. She was rehomed at age 14 yrs 6 mths because her owner could no longer look after her. She is a beautiful cat with a lovely nature, but has serious health issues which will cause her problems in the long run. For now, we're just enjoying her and keeping her happy and comfortable. She's a dote.

He's a real hunter gatherer, with a strong focus on gathering.

Oh Lord.
Linney hunted and gathered a thrush the other day, and brought us the remains (presumably for our lunch).

Tabby queens rock! That was wonderful of you to take her in.

Gizmo will probably want to marry her, having been turned down by Kitty.

A two headed kitten. What we thought were sisters when we got them a month ago. The vet showed me their balls today. We have two boys 🤣🤣🤣

Those ears, though! You'll have fun with these two!

He's gorgeous (but looks a bit sad)
Is he friendly?

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 19/08/2025 08:57

Linney has gone missing.
He never came back last night, which is very unusual for him, as he's generally home by 11.30pm. I've never known him to stay out at night - he just always comes home.

I've put pictures of him on the village FB page.

Bugger - hope he turns up soon.

Locked in somebody's shed perhaps?

EmpressaurusKitty · 19/08/2025 09:02

I’m so sorry Broon, I hope he turns up safe.

Do most people know each others’ cats in your village?

Well, we definitely know each other's cats in this bit of it. That would be Linney, Gizmo, Picard and Suzy.
All the neighbours know all four.
