What a stupid, stupid man - doesn't know when he's got it good does he!

Any particular excuse reason he gave (assuming you're happy to share of course)?

JoanOgden · 24/09/2025 13:52

Good Lord Broon, I'm v sorry to hear that. I'm glad that you and the cats are doing OK.

I bet he comes crawling back

CatsonPollock · 24/09/2025 14:06

Like everyone else on these threads - absolutely stunned to hear your news @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne
Sending best wishes and strength to you from the Pollocks 'down south'. 💐 🐾🐾

(Hope Gizmo took a chunk out of his leg on the way out)

coastergirl · 24/09/2025 14:17

You sound very strong Broon. I'm sorry that he dropped it on you like that. I'm glad you have lots of people around you.

RumNotRun · 24/09/2025 14:37

Bloody hell @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne!! I agree with @CatsonPollockin hoping that Gizmo gave him a bite on the way. We are all here if you want to talk/rant/whatever. Look after, and be kind, to yourself.

BellaPommefritio · 24/09/2025 14:38

Same, Broon, you are very much loved and valued here x

Allergictoironing · 24/09/2025 15:13

With claws only - wouldn't like to think of that poor innocent little kitty being poisoned.

And Linney the other leg.

All I can say is that there was no infidelity on either side.
I can't really explain. It was very sudden. Last Tuesday evening (so eight days ago) we disagreed about something very, very important.
On the Wednesday he just walked out.
I ended up phoning the police because I had no idea where he was and he stayed out (and remained incommunicado) for three days.

Anyway, he was located last Friday. By that time I'd become utterly furious and didn't want him back. He didn't want to come back, either.

Today, I got an email to tell me that he was no longer on the tenancy agreement of our shared house.

I don't know where he is, or what he's doing, and I don't want to know.

Sorry to hear that news @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne .
Hope you're OK.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 24/09/2025 16:12

There is something I'd like advice about though.

I live in a sheltered housing complex. There are twelve houses. I'm friendly with J who is the woman next door. I told her about everything a few days ago.

We have a completely useless part-time warden.

The warden knocked on J's door yesterday and asked her if she knew what was going on with me and my STBXH.

That's a frightful breach of confidentiality IMO. Supposing J had no idea what was happening? Did the warden go round to everyone, to ask them all for information?

The one person she didn't ask was me.

I mean - how fucking dare she? She told J that my ex had applied for housing elsewhere. That's news to me. And it's nothing to do with J.

I'm really angry about this. I think her manager needs to know.

Pianoaholic · 24/09/2025 16:13

I would complain about that, not on at all.

Allergictoironing · 24/09/2025 16:15

Completely agree Broon! Something like that would be suspension with a view to dismissal where I work, and the fact you're in sheltered housing means you should be classed as vulnerable so she should have had training on this kind of thing.

Esgaroth · 24/09/2025 16:15

Yes, complain. That's a common village mentality, isn't it, lots of gossip and poking noses in to other people's business (I grew up in a little village). But absolutely not appropriate and she should know better.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 24/09/2025 16:22

Thank you all.
I am going to make a formal complaint in that case.

I sent the warden a WhatsApp last night, telling her to back off and not to discuss my private business with everyone. This morning, she rocked up to my house to tell me she'd only talked to J because she was worried about me.

Bitch. The warden, not J. J has been a rock. It was J who drove me, DD2 and Sebastian to the vet's the other day. It's a round trip of 32 miles. A taxi would have been £70.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 24/09/2025 16:25

My other rock has been L who lives in the next village, and who started the Dementia Choir, for which I'm the conductor.
So I have two very strong women friends behind me.

Plus my adult DC. Two here in the village and two in London.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 24/09/2025 16:26

I don't know what to do with my idiot ex-husband's clothes. He doesn't seem to want them.

I could use more space in the wardrobe.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 24/09/2025 16:27

Anyway, please show me pictures of your cats. That always distracts me.

Me and Kettle are popping up the shop, do you want any pick and mix or a packet of crisps or something, Broon? Bottle of wine?

The undersized box is now a battleground between Karl and Lenny. Karl has won at the moment. Even Basil got a slap when walking past earlier.

You could have spent a fortune on expensive cat toys and they'd still prefer the box that the last consignment of Felix arrived in.

Bottle of wine?

I've got a wonderful bottle of Chablis chilling in the fridge. When DD2 comes round, we'll crack it open.
