Calling all cats! Come and get some chicken.

After all, the whole point of boxes is for cats to get into them.

Esgaroth · 13/09/2025 14:21

Went to the pool this morning, lovely big ginger cat just lying by the reception desk, completely relaxed.

It's a busy pool, especially on a Saturday morning, so I expect he was getting lots of fuss. I love local cats that hang out in public places, they add so much joy to people's days.

I can’t believe I only saw one NMC in Puglia. I’m thinking Norway next year, but somehow that’s not a place I associate with roaming cats.

Esgaroth · 13/09/2025 14:38

I know some people in Norway, I think they have roaming cats. Although they are rural so could be different in towns. It's Denmark that's funny about it I believe.

Worn out after a morning of biting my leg and arguing with Linney, Gizmo has a well-earned rest on the sofa.

Gizmo clearly has a tough life.

I’ve come out shopping & left Kitty sitting on Barry from Bari.

I went to a monastery this morning. Lots of NMHCs. The ginger one is drinking water with sprigs of mint in it (!), the small one looked barely older than a kitten, but still had the ear notch and the one on the bench was just huge! 😀. They all looked very happy and healthy. And got all the scritches they could want.

ShoutyCatSlave · 13/09/2025 15:49

Hmm. No photos, and no message saying they're being checked. Let's try again.

Nope. No images coming through. 😢. I've tried single, multiple, but nothing. Will try later and contact HQ if still no joy.

I've booked a weekend in Lithuania for the end of November. I will be v disappointed if there are no cats. The hotel is pet friendly so hopefully that means there will be some cats, or dogs. I would take Frank but he doesn't have a passport.

This little madam is deaf so missed the call for treats 😂

I’d like to have taken Kitty but I don’t think she’d have enjoyed it much.

She is lovely, what's her name?

Pianoaholic · 13/09/2025 17:41

@EmpressaurusKitty I would recommend Norway, it was amazing, fabulous scenery (we went to Bergen, and Flam, on Sognefjord).

We saw a grand total of one NMC though (which you may recall me posting a picture of).

Sunday, although I usually call her Fluff Muppet and she does not respond 😂

I just went back & found the post - the friendly Bergen NMC!

I’m sure we’ve got some treats left over for Sunday!

One of my Matilda's names is Fluff Monster. Sunday looks very snuggly and comfortable in your photo. Has she always been deaf?

Frederick has finally discovered the ouija board and he LOVES it. At first, Lex was one side, Fred was the other, but Lex got bored so went off to nap. Fred is still determined to kill the worm.

Kitty was trying so hard to kill the worm earlier that she sent the board skimming across the floor. It’s definitely one of the best toys she’s ever had.

RumNotRun · 13/09/2025 21:40

Fred has managed a couple of skids too. I turned it off eventually but he has now come back in and is pouncing on the butterfly while making little noises. He says Kitty has obviously got fantastic taste cause it's his favourite toy too.

She hasn’t gone for the butterfly yet but maybe that will come! Kitty says that Fred & Lex obviously have fantastic taste too.

HumanToCatBeasties · 13/09/2025 22:08

I'm tempted to one of these now. I live in a Victorian terrace that's over 100 years old though. Are they going to be summoning past cats, which I could deal with, or something more disturbing? Why does a ouija board have a worm and a butterfly? I'm so confused.

I think I'll get one, too.

Although with a sense of resignation, because my cats never play with toys. Ungrateful sods.
