Calling all cats! Come and get some chicken.

Her tabby coat with the ginger highlights always made me think of the description of Farder Coram's cat dæmon from Northern Lights: "When the sunlight touched her, it lit up more shades of tawny-brown-leaf-hazel-corn-gold-autumn-mahogany than Lyra could name."

There is no creature quite as happy
As the smiling, purring tabby
Who sits upon the ginger mat
And acts like he is king of cats
While soaking up the amber rays
Of the summer sun by day
Then, by night, he does retire
By the glowing orange fire.
Whenever life seems gray or dull
This tabby makes it colorful.

That's glorious.

Tabbies are usually very nice natured cats in my experience (of my old cat Gabby).

Oh @Breadcat24 I am so sorry to hear the news. You poor thing, big hugs and best wishes to you. She was a beautiful cat and I'm sure you have many very happy memories of her. They really do leave their paw prints on our hearts.x.x

@Breadcat24 I'm so sorry to hear your news. It's truly heartbreaking to lose a beloved pet. Every time it happens to me, I swear that it's not worth having them. But after a while I realise it really is worth it. The love we give them and they give us, is so worth it. Sending you love.

@Breadcat24 I'm so so sorry to hear about Breadcat. She was such a beautiful cat - the photo of her in the sunshine shows how glorious a colour tabby is. I always liked seeing photos of her because her markings are so similar to Stripey's that it's like seeing a grown-up version. It must be an awful shock for you to lose her so suddenly.

All those pictures of her just show me how very much she resembles Emerald (Linney's sister). Mind you, Emerald was very overweight. She'd have given Gizmo a run for his money, if he'd tried to nick her food.

My neighbour’s going to look after her while I’m away next week. Kitty normally becomes reconciled fairly quickly when she realises this is her new source of food / games / balcony access.

Frankenstein has fallen off the back of the sofa, but has carried on sleeping and snoring.

@OlderGlaswegianLivingInDevon Thanks for asking. No Breadcat was an only cat as she hated other cats!
I am being asked to consider a long haired tabby called Shadow who has a sad story.
His owners were having work done on their house so they moved out and just left their 2 cats to fend for themselves! An ex neighbour started feeding him, then had his chip scanned and contacted them. They said they thought the cats could hunt! How do people behave? This was 6 months ago. No sign of the other cat. Ex neighbour has 2 cats who dislike this interloper. I have given her a crate full of food to feed him but think it is a bit soon for us to have another cat after Bready
Also it is by no means a given that the awful owners would transfer the chip
