All cats welcome.

Even bitey ones.

My sister (who is weirdly not a cat person) is currently house and cat sitting. She is allergic to cats but Bob wants to be friends. Look at this impressive tail!

Did you buy the car to match the cats, or the other way round?

All three acquired round about the same time 🤣.

Esgaroth · 31/07/2025 23:32

My children left an open tub of Greek yoghurt unattended on the kitchen table. Someone couldn't believe his luck 🙄

Honestly if this cat becomes obese I am 100% blaming the kids, because it won't be the daddy long legses that have done it.

Esgaroth · 31/07/2025 23:37

Smug yoghurt thief.

Ooh I have some wild garlic chicken Kievs in the fridge, from Morrisons not Sainsbury's though.

Vixen is sleeping in a very odd position tonight, with her paw propped up on the arm of my office chair.

I absolutely cannot work this photo out!

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 31/07/2025 23:53

How come he's not covered in yoghurt?
Not convinced he's the yoghurt thief at all. 🤣

Kettle and I are enjoying a beer in the garden because it's my last day of work tomorrow before I go properly off for the summer hols and the last day doesn't really count, does it?

Kettle's been hard at work catching flies and has eaten at least two daddy long legses (is that the proper plural?).

If it's not the proper term, then it should be!

In our house, we have loads of the big spiders with spindly legs in the bathroom. I was told they eat the big hairy ones, so they're allowed to stay. I call all spiders Bob (I used to call them Boris, but our former PM put a stop to that. I wouldn't insult spiders that way). ANYWAY! The other day, I was in the lounge and my crazy 6yo screamed from the bathroom and asked me to come to him. I asked why, and he said "there's a Bob! It's really big!" I told him I was eating my lunch but tell Bob I say hi. Very casual. Several minutes later (after I can hear little one chatting away to the spider while he's on the loo), he comes back and tells me he's been having a meeting with Bob. I asked what the meeting was about. "We were talking about his family. He's split up with his wife!" He cracks me up. Not sure what this has to do with cats, sorry. Did I tell you I was diagnosed with ADHD the other day?! 😂 🙈

I caught him white whiskered.

He's just finished a big smug grooming session.

ETA: Realised his whiskers are always white... but they were extra white. Due to thick coating of yoghurt.

@coastergirlHer back paw was propped up on the chair arm, and her head was drooping over the side of the unit. She sleeps in positions that don't look comfortable and also look like she has died. It's quite unnerving at times.

In that light she almost looks Kettle-coloured.

There was a very friendly NMC outside this morning. I haven’t seen the ginger one lately though.

If I get told by the vet that Tobias needs to lose more weight, I will blame Annie.

She came round today with some Churu Pops I'd asked her to get as she was going to Pets At Home, and she fed him so many cat treats that when I had some pate myself later he only ate a tiny bit & left the rest. Normally he would eat it until I stopped giving him any.

These says when he hears the door and then her voice when she comes in, he comes charging over from wherever he is in the house in full on starved little kitten mode & sits on the floor next to her giving her pathetic looks.

EmpressaurusKitty · 02/08/2025 16:56

I saw this at the local garden centre, @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne. They didn’t have a Linney one which I thought was rather unfair.

Gizmo, about to fall off the sofa.

Ghostie does a similar position on my ottoman. Unfortunately she isn't as wise as Gizmo and often falls off.

Allergictoironing · 02/08/2025 21:48

Boycat would do that Gizmo position lying next to me on the sofa when he wanted belly rubs. Unfortunately he would to it with his head facing the edge, then writhe around in pleasure until he fell off onto aforementioned head. I have said in the past he wasn't exactly the brightest or most agile of cats...

EmpressaurusKitty · 02/08/2025 22:08

As long as you don’t laugh. Laughing is a huge insult, and totally unjustified since the cat obviously meant to get down that way.
