Sadly a train journey of 13 minutes has been replaced by a bus journey of nearly an hour 😭.
Think this is why I don't get buses very often.

While you lot were preparing for an evening of fun & frolics, I ended up stuck at work until after 7pm. Last minute emergency needing to pay for a Care Leaver's summer accommodation, due to move in today. After over 3 hours trying to sort it out with the accommodation company, we worked out that between their rules and our rules we didn't have a way to pay last night. The council doesn't do direct bank payments, the company won't accept company payment cards etc. - I declined their kind offer to let me pay over £2k on my personal card then try to claim it back, without management authority!

Then I had to call the young person & say he can't move in today, which was a painful call for both to say the least. They really don't pay me anywhere near enough for this shit - worked out it's only about £1k pa over minimum wage.

When I crawled in the door at gone 7:30pm, both cats charged down to see me so fast they nearly went in to me, and Tobias refused to let me all the way through the door until I'd given him strokes and scritches bless him. I think they are still traumatised by that time recently when I was stuck in traffic until 9pm and Annie had to go in to give them supper.
