What temperature is it where you are? @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne I live in a freezing cold terrace and this time of year is when I finally get the advantages. It is around 24 degrees inside, which is warmer than I'd like, but bearable.

It was 15° when we woke up this morning, and it is 23° at the moment.

The heat seems to be wearing Gizmo out.

Poor boy. Lucky for him he’s not a Londoner any more.

Lucky you! It was over 20c at 8am today, still 24c now, and peaked at around 32c mid afternoon. And it's so STEAMY. I keep tripping over flat out cats on the laminate flooring.

RumNotRun · 11/07/2025 20:58

I put the cooling pillows in the fridge for a few hours. Oh my goodness, they are heavenly now! I've given Lex his one back. He wouldn't lie on it at all at first, but is now very slowly edging on to it. He's like a grumpy old man who doesn't want to admit that I have done something he likes.

Herbie has just been soaking up sun on the table outside. Now he's moved to the shade.
We are off to Norway on Monday where I was hoping it would be cooler. However they also have high temperatures at the moment, dropping to 25 or so while we're there.
Goes without saying that I will look out for cats whilst there!

It's warm in Argyll today!

Last night, I didn't have my electric blanket in, for the first time since last November. I'm also wearing a sleeveless blouse today.

Fred says it's very hot in Cardiff but he is enjoying the ceiling fan breeze.

I went to a kitten yoga class this morning & the NMKs were utterly adorable. They work with local breeders & use the classes for socialisation.

@EmpressaurusKitty Not sure I have the knees for it but that would make me want to do yoga

It’s very very gentle yoga!

With my coordination I would be worried I would topple over while trying some sort of yoga pose and take out a kitten.

I would be up for a kitten socialisation class though, but I don't think they exist.

I think they’ve considered that! It’s all sitting, lying down or on all fours.

I'm not sure about getting down on all fours in front of kittens. When mine were kittens Boris was hiding under my bed after an incident with a crochet hook. I was down on all fours trying to coax him out so I could check he was ok. Matilda thought it looked like a fun game and jumped on my back and dug her claws in as I straightened up in surprise. I'd only had them 24 hours at this point.

I can't get up from the floor at all now, nor can I go on all fours.
Gone are the days when I delivered babies with the mothers kneeling on a mat on the floor, with me kneeling beside them.

Even turning over in bed is very painful nowadays.

Ah well. I'd go to the yoga to see the kittens. That would be wonderful.

Lex is relaxing on his mat, dribbling like the little oddball he is!

They do one session a month that is just playing with kittens but that’s London only.

Oh that's a shame.

Anyone in London fancy meeting for coffee or a drink, then? Without kittens?

One thing I do look forward to when dropping Herbie at the cattery is seeing all the cats in their 'accommodation'!
Those kittens are gorgeous though!
My sister occasionally goes to a cat cafe, not sure about that, but she enjoys it.

RumNotRun · 12/07/2025 17:53

If you're anywhere near Soho, my nephew works in a Colombian café on Greek Street. According to Google reviews, the food and drinks are very good.

I was thinking almost the same - minus the bit about delivering babies of course! The turning over in bed bit especially, which makes getting out of bed a nightmare some mornings
