I'm amazed that the first thread has filled up. So he's another thread about the inmates of Toddler Towers!

Penelope not happy.

Poor Paddington. He needs to go more slowly and give Penelope more time, but he wants to be companionable right now. He is quite a big bloke, isn’t he?

They are both so lovely, I hope the passage of time will make them (well Penelope) less stressed at at Paddington’s presence. He is determined to be right alongside her, and in her face, though.

Toddlerteaplease · 15/07/2024 13:06

So they had a punch up. He fell off the windowsill like a cartoon cat! He's fast asleep on my bed, looking very chilled out. I'm currently wearing a purring Penelope like a hat. Also on the bed. (I am post nights) I think the issue is actually the windowsill. He corners her easily and she's threatened. He is twice her size. She was getting very angry, and he only reacted a tiny bit. So hopefully she'll establish whose boss.

He's huge!

Toddlerteaplease · 15/07/2024 17:11

Penelope target on my pillow for ages, even after I got up. She knew Paddington was in the room but didn't seem too bothered. She got back on her window seat, completely unhurriedly and by her own choice. Progress!

I've just realised why she's started pooing when Paddington scared her. She's been drinking a lot of cat milk! I was recommended it for curing constipation.

OP posts:
Soubriquet · 16/07/2024 18:25

It does sound like a stress reaction. Maybe cut down on the cat milk

Toddlerteaplease · 16/07/2024 18:41

Yes. It's definitely stress but it's slightly stickier and more difficult to clean up. Probably because I'm
Giving her too much milk. She loves it!

2.5kg and plotting world domination!

I can see that. All hail queen Penelope

though to be fair she would probably do a better job than the current leaders

Toddlerteaplease · 17/07/2024 11:57

I'm
Not sure how she'd get on with Larry, though. Paddington is not considering world domination, and had retired to sick his blanket. 🙄

What IS it with the little ones? My 2.4kg girl is the scourge of the neighbouring foxes and woe betide any other cat(s) that enter our garden - our neighbours at the last house had 5 cats but she wasn't bothered by any of them Smile

Toddlerteaplease · 17/07/2024 14:33

Small cat syndrome!

Breadcat24 · 18/07/2024 12:18

Her eye looks a lot better! Even with the slightly filthy look!

Toddlerteaplease · 18/07/2024 16:50

Yes. It's loads better. Keeping her on the eyedrops while I'm on holiday. But I have a strong suspicion that they've been caused by her steroid ear drops. That are not supposed to be used long term, and she shakes them every where!

Very impressive set of whiskers on Penelope!

Toddlerteaplease · 18/07/2024 18:23

Yes. They not have impressive facial hair and almost matching moustaches! They've gone to the cattery today. Pad's will love it when he settles in. But he gave me sad eyes when I left. I wish we could tell the we'll be back.

Toddlerteaplease · 19/07/2024 15:28

All going well so far at the cattery. I've said to give it a few days. And if they are ok, to stop separating them at night. As I want to stop that at home.

Soubriquet · 19/07/2024 18:02

Oh I hate leaving them at catteries. They never understand do they? I had to do it to Toots last year as we had to stay in a motel for a week whilst our temporary accommodation was being sorted. Never felt so guilty in my life. I thought she would sulk when she got back but she didn’t. She was just so happy to see us again

Toddlerteaplease · 20/07/2024 14:47

Apparently all is going well. They are going to try not separating them tonight. Fingers crossed.

Omg!!!!!!!! The cattery have sent this photo. Apparently quietly curled up
Together. Penelope wasn't impressed at having her photo taken!
