I am not bloody calling it Velcro!!

Please help me with a name for these two. The black one just wanted neck snuggles so my DD in all of her wisdom has nicknamed her Velcro but this is me putting my foot down. Its not happening.

I read somewhere that naming pets with teamed names can have consequences.

The author had had a run of misfortune with their children's goldfish. The first pair were given teamed names and one died. They purchased another two as company for the first, again gave teamed names and one of the second pair died.

They were left with two fish respectively called Hardy and Squeak.

I think Velcro is a good name for a cat (but I have a cat called Crash so what do i know!🤣)

Just remembered the name of the cat of my early childhood, which my older brother was allowed to name. He was called Toenails.

I think all cats end up with several names, I think Velcro is clever, cute and a bit different. If you were unaware of what Velcro is you wouldn't question the name and wouldn't get the meaning so a win win...Zippy and Buttons are established cat names, not sure why but nobody would bat an eyelid

I created a similar problem when I named a pair of canaries Pearl and Dean. Pearl died tragically young. So for years I was left with an only canary called Dean.
