Please help me with a name for these two. The black one just wanted neck snuggles so my DD in all of her wisdom has nicknamed her Velcro but this is me putting my foot down. Its not happening.

Sorry but Velcro is an awesome name for a cat

Florissante · 17/04/2023 14:22

Velcro and Not Velcro.

Florissante · 17/04/2023 14:22

Pip and Squeak.

ODFOx · 17/04/2023 14:24

There's a middle road here:
Little charcoal behaves like Velcro which is a loop and hook fastening.
You like the name Luna (which is dreadfully popular for a kitten).
Loopy Loopus reflects DDs intention and your initials choice.

However Lupus means wolf which is a weird thing for a cat so go super feline with the other name with something like Panthera Tigris.

Isheabastard · 17/04/2023 14:25

What about Little Pearl?

Short for a pearl necklace, ie it hangs (snuggles)around your neck.

Or Snuggles/Snug/snuggy?

We had a female kitten whose face was mouselike, so Mouse it was.

Theoldwoman · 17/04/2023 14:28

Lucille for the black and white one, Alice for the brown and white!

NancyPickford · 17/04/2023 14:29

Betty and Veronica.

burgledinParis · 17/04/2023 14:38

Velco and zipper !

Velcro and Not Velcro.

We have a cat called Bella. A few months ago another cat that looked just like her started hanging around - so we nicknamed the interloper Not Bella. Then another cat of same colouring but different markings appeared - that one is now called Not Not Bella.

Bless you, @Isheabastard . Please don't Google pearl necklace.

🤣

I love Velcro, and the other clever linked suggestions.

Team Velcro here. Zippy and Buttons also cute..

Ponderingwindow · 17/04/2023 15:11

Team velcro

i like Velcro and buttons

we have 3 cats, each acquired a few years apart. You can tell dd was maturing because the cat’s all have very different names. I quite like the time capsule it has created.

stickygotstuck · 17/04/2023 15:17

Velcro and Zippi are ace names! Genius, @TheLightSideOfTheMoon 💪

OP, if you are not a seamstress, please become one!

Toddlerteaplease · 17/04/2023 15:22

Velcro and Zippy are awesome names. Grin

Toddlerteaplease · 17/04/2023 15:23

Actually think I might give Cheddar Velcro as a middle name. It's brilliant

Toddlerteaplease · 17/04/2023 15:24

I think you are outvoted OP. Velcro and Zippy it is.

TheForgetfulCat · 17/04/2023 15:27

We had a tiny black kitten who was officially called Asterix but ended up named Blott for similar reasons to Meep. He grew up into a huge black and white psychopath so his name evolved to Blott on the Landscape.

I also have a cat named Megatron which is down to the 8 year olds Transformers phase.

For all these reasons I think Velcro is an excellent name.

Velcro and Poppers, Poppy for short?

BotterMon · 17/04/2023 15:27

Velcro is a brilliant name! Or they could be Hook and Loop. 😁

My dog was named by the children of the breeder and is called something daft like Snowy Chocolate Button Fiddlesticks - it's so inane I refuse to remember it. Not great for a working gundog.....

Shannith · 17/04/2023 15:39

Team Velcro and Zippy

You can call cats totally random names - it's half the point of having them.

Mine are Disco and Biscuit. Slightly worried about the day DD is old enough to get it.

diflasu · 17/04/2023 15:40

I like Hook and Loop.

But then I was overruled with muppet and mayhem - which actually would have suited ours better.

We have seagulls that DH has become very fond of. They are called;

Harry
Mrs Harry
Baby Harry
The Other Baby Harry

Florissante · 17/04/2023 15:52

For the cuddler: Lt Worf as he was a Klingon.
