Sad cat alone

Up my lane is a house where a cat sits in the "garden" surrounded by rubbish, cat crates, litter. It's there every day, rain or shine. The "garden" is a shithole tbh.

Cat and I are friends. I've knocked on the house repeatedly, windows open etc - no reply.

Tonight the cat is coated in paint. I've picked him (?) up and carried him home. He's stuffing his face in the spare bedroom and my two resident cats are sniffing the door

Should I alert eg RSPA or g back to the house and remonstrate?

This cat is mangy, left out in the pissing rain, I swear it's been dumped.

hi - how is princess scarlet doing OP 🥰

Well she's been here a week plus. Her fur is not greasy - it's still lumpy and vile along her back, but I've got a mountain of felty fur off.

She's so much more vocal. Obviously elderly now - with claws sticking in bedcovers and no Interest beyond food and cuddles and comfort. But she talks and talks now. And purrs - a small far away sound. She's so lovely. Unfortunately my resident cats are at her being here.

Ahhh it sounds like she's settled in so well. How lovely that she's talkative! I hope your other cats come around soon, a bit more time and they'll probably accept her even if they're never 'friends'.

I'm sorry your other cats aren't enjoying having a new cat around. I hope they settle down when she's not so new and hasn't caused them any problems so they sort of get used to her.

Aw this thread has really cheered me up after a chappy time. You're so kind and scarlett sounds so happy. We rescued a stray and whilst he's still a little standoffish he's started to occasionally purr and make biscuits.

You are so kind to do this I was in the vet's one day recently and one of the receptionists was trying to call around about a cat in a similar situation. She came up against all kind of things eg you couldn't take the cat away from the home if she wanted to report it etc (RSPCA I think) , the animal warden wouldn't help etc so she had brought it to the vet's to work with her. The cat was going to go home with her as they are not a 24 hour vet.

@HMSSophia Such a lovely thing you've done for this cat, probably saved her life :) Fingers crossed your other two settle down with her in time.
