Not sure how much to intervene with this cat.

Out for a walk yesterday and came across a cat in very poor condition. Skinny and dirty. I spoke to a neighbour who said he is fed twice a day. And has always looked scruffy.

Posted on my local cat's Facebook page, and got inundated with people telling me to basically cat nap him.

A rescue fit in touch with me who are willing to help. Went back for another look, there is a note on the bib saying that he's fed and watered and although the looks uncared for he isn't and is an actor. The person who was feeding him has died and the house sold. But he's still being cared for.
I feel that I should leave it. Its not ideal, but the note on the bin suggests other people are concerned and they are aware of it.
But now the rescue want to scan him and possibly take to a vet. Help what do I do now!!

Oh bless his gorgeous little heart.

Want2beme · 09/05/2022 00:22

It's lovely to see him being so well cared for. You'd just love to know where they come from.

CarrieCookie · 10/05/2022 15:39

Oh he's loving it, bless him.
At least he can relax now without any pain or hunger 😭

Toddlerteaplease · 10/05/2022 19:26

I know. It's so lovely! Maybe his liver disease will improve with good care. You never know!

Len looks so much happier and more relaxed. Whatever happens, his quality of life is so much better. I'd never heard the starfish story before but it is so true. You are starfish girl, Toddlerteaplease. It's been great seeing the updates and getting details of how to donate.

There’s been a new very poorly addition to the rescue since Len, gender neutral name because the poor thing’s fur is so matted they can’t tell. Will link:

What a lovely, caring thing to do. Most people would’ve accepted the note but bless you, you got him safe❤️ The world needs more people like you😍 at least his last days/weeks will be safe, fed & loved.

Want2beme · 10/05/2022 23:42

Poor Sam's in a terrible state.

CarrieCookie · 10/05/2022 23:43

Oh look at Sam's sad little face 😢

BonjourCrisette · 11/05/2022 00:01

@Toddlerteaplease you're a legend. Thank you for rescuing Len. He looks very happy in his new home. I have a rescue stray who I found in my garden so v close to my heart (Ned the gentle giant, in case anyone remembers).

Toddlerteaplease · 11/05/2022 02:50

Poor Sam looks in a worse state then Len.

The rescue have sent me more pictures of Len (Can't post as his foster carer is on them) and said he's just the sweetest boy.

Oh fingers crossed! It's amazing the things they can do.

When Ivy was poisoned and her kidneys pretty much packed up it was looking like we were going to have to PTS. She had 2 weeks inpatient care (thank god for insurance) and now 3 years later her bloods are completely normal and kidneys have totally recovered.

I'm sure his liver won't totally recover at his age but I really hope they can improve a little and give him some more time in a loving warm home ❤️❤️

Toddlerteaplease · 11/05/2022 10:55

If there is one organ that can recover we it's the liver. Sending a stock pile of advocate to the rescue. Magic and Cheddar are delighted to share it. Grin

Ahh!! Have you seen the latest update on the charity’s FB page!
He looks so happy!
Thank you so much again for saving him

nettie434 · 12/05/2022 22:06

Just checked the update now! 💖💖He clearly wasn't 'choosing' to live under the wheelie bin so it's great that he now has a home.

Want2beme · 12/05/2022 22:10

LostCats aww, he's living the life, finally. He looks so comfortable & content.

SwissCheeseRentedChildren · 12/05/2022 22:26

Aaw, bless his sweet little heart!

Toddlerteaplease · 12/05/2022 22:35

Love that picture. He is certainly learning how to rule the roost. What absolute rubbish that he didn’t want to go inside. He looks loads better. Cleaner and brighter. His Evers have lost the sad look!

He really does look so much better, really lovely to see.

Want2beme · 13/05/2022 10:34

I'd be tempted to put this photo of Len on that bloody bin.😸

Toddlerteaplease · 13/05/2022 12:43

I've got a lovely pic of him head butting his foster carer and demanding kisses. 😍
