He had the best life with you and looked like a very content and well loved cat. Sorry for your loss though, it's horrible when our favourites go.

Tell the feathered fuck to pipe down and have some respect. Or, as lots of people on Mumsnet seem to say, tell him to keep his beak out.

I'm so sorry, Super - I've followed Cap'n's story on and off and he was clearly a magnificent and very much loved beast.

The vet nurse is coming round tomorrow cos he’s so upset. We’ll raise a glass.

The cremation fee is huge - I tremblingly asked if there were instalments and the woman on the phone said with relish ‘of course but until you’ve made the final monthly payment you won’t get your little cat back.’

Have been asleep most of day.

Some good news for the Litter Tray - Star just came home having been missing for a week. She's in good shape, no injuries but absolutely ravenous. She trotted in the cat flap as if she'd just been out for an hour.

Now that is good news, especially after the others not sauntering in after a week. Part of me wishes they could talk but I could never afford the hush money.

Ive seen a fourth black and white cat on our road. Luckily each house owns the best looking one.

Lana if you change your mind I'd also love to contribute. You shouldn't have to struggle to get your boy back.

I can imagine the Capn comparing notes with MrC about the updated M&S deli menu “maple sugar glaze? It was all smoked salt in my day of course”

The first week of losing them is sheer hell and eventually we all go through it again.
