Is he feeling ok, do you think? Fifteen hours is a long time to go without eating, drinking or using the litter tray.

I think so! He had food when he got up at 6am Probably just tired if he's been sleeping outside
Allergictoironing · 20/12/2021 09:34

I could see that a feeling of comfort and total safety would help him sleep for hours too

AlfonsoTheUnrepentant · 20/12/2021 09:41

Oh, ok. Good to hear. Poor thing. Sleeping outside when it's cold is no fun. I agree with @Allergictoironing - he slept so long and so deeply because he knows that he is safe and loved.

NMC2022 · 20/12/2021 09:42

He slept next to my feet all night Smile

AlfonsoTheUnrepentant · 20/12/2021 09:57

Sweet Paws.

Papergirl1968 · 20/12/2021 10:11

Oh Paws, how lucky you are to have found your real home. Please just move in and stop going back to those tossers who don't care about you.

Supersimkin2 · 20/12/2021 10:29

Beautiful Xmas story of love and peace.

Sniff. Wobbly lip here.

I just want to hug all three of you and smother you with kisses Grin

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 20/12/2021 13:20

Lovely Paws update and picture. Another vote for NMC2022 to admit defeat and namechange Grin.

Meanwhile in the Grumpy household ours are gently encouraging Mrs Grumpy to GET A BLOODY MOVE ON AND FEED US.

Is paws out overnight when he’s not with you? I didn’t know. He’s the one who had an injury isn’t he.

For a joke I put puddys dish on the floor this morning. FUMING with me and sat under the table with her back to me.

NMC2022 · 20/12/2021 13:44

He is we think. They don't have a cat flap so I'm guessing if he's still out at midnight he can't get in

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 20/12/2021 17:18

I should perhaps confess that our cats fall into the same category as this. We do ask them nicely to come in at night, but if they insist on staying out at bedtime then they are out all night. They really don't seem phased by the cold, they are fitted with exceptionally well tailored fur coats.

I don't think he can get in through the day either going from what cats protection said. She also said he didn't like the children but I didn't push further as to what she had found out! It seemed basically he was shut outside most of the time Which makes sense as he's very confused by normal things like a bath, the kettle boiling, the TV...
Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 20/12/2021 18:17

Fully understood. I've never been in any doubt that Paws is well deserving of his much happier life with you Grin.

Supersimkin2 · 20/12/2021 18:29

Mrs Grumpy is taking her time, choosing the appropriate tempo in which to conduct the world-famous Grumpy Quartet.

Capn's breathing is getting worse. Not vet bad yet. Just been back to Tesco to get a teeny gold Gourmet tin, which he's sort of licked at. Just in time for crisis at Christmas tho, of course. I'm stressy but if I can get us past Saturday he'll have had more extra time than he should have done, and some.

Fluffycloudland77 · 20/12/2021 18:43

Oh bollocks. Does he like it warmed gently in a microwave? Dm used to do that for her cat.

TheLongRider · 20/12/2021 18:49

Super - you've done wonders with him. A cat couldn't have asked for a better human in his last few years.

NMC2022 · 20/12/2021 18:56

Would he like some tuna maybe or stick an M&S sticker on the tin?

Fluffycloudland77 · 20/12/2021 20:10

Cat soup?

Supersimkin2 · 20/12/2021 20:40

Those are all brilliant ideas. I'll be LW later and unearthing the tuna in the morning. Thank you, esp to TWOCATS2022.

He's only eating Ladies of Litter Pavlova at the mo - double cream crushed with Dreamies.

Incidentally, the Tesco orange-slice-on-top ham for a fiver is delish, much nicer than the M&S one which is itself toothsome. Small red box in the Xmas foods chiller.

Papergirl1968 · 20/12/2021 20:59

Thinking of you and Cap'n, Lana.

Allergictoironing · 20/12/2021 21:16

Does Cap'n like Lik e Lix? That tends to slip down well with most cats.

He's living his best life Lana, he'll be very determined to milk it for as long as he can!

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 20/12/2021 22:12

Supersimkin2, have you tried Cap'n on prawns or marmite (or both). Never known a cat who wouldn't go for one or the other?

Ladies of Litter Pavlova 🤣

NMC2022 · 20/12/2021 22:12

Ollie flatly refused to eat his joint supplement. Put it in tuna and he has scoffed it down. He suggests it as a good option, or perhaps some of the tasty applaws stuff with prawns, very easy to eat

Supersimkin2 · 20/12/2021 22:39

A fine selection of Daily Specials, says Capn. I’m doing lik e lix now.

Marmite crumpet awaits

Me Grin
