I’m finally going to get a cat!

My partner and I want a dog and a cat, me more so cat, and him more dog. I’ve finally made him realise a cat is the sensible first choice with our lives right now. We’ve signed up with the local rescues, looking for a young adult cat and I am so fucking excited. I’ve owned cats before but from a young child, anything I should get I haven’t thought about? Can I see your cats just to get me more excited? I’m genuinely over the moon

Men soon come around to cats, he’ll be referring to himself as daddy in no time. My dh used to deny doing it but I’d hear him with the cat “let daddy towel you off because mommy is too mean to do it, there’s good lad. Now we do paws, now the back paws and lets do your tail” while the cat stood there lapping it up.

They know they have us just where they want us.

Just rang the rescue about two boys, my partner suggested it, I had no clue he would go for two. Now the waiting game to see if they think they’re right foe us! Two black and white 9 month old boys!!

Not mine but my sisters 2 Persian x kittens she got a couple of weeks ago I’m in love and now need a cat they’re mesmerising to watch.

@Grumpyoldpersonwithcats The rescue turnip is at, arent proceeding with anything until lockdown is over, and are getting so many people emailing applications in preparedness for lockdown ending my chances are pretty slim. So I’m also trying another rescue which is open

There’s also an element of getting a cat in the house before DP comes to his senses

Ours was estimated around 9/10 months old when we adopted him. He was bonkers and we called him a hooligan! He is calmer now. With two they can chase each other.

Got our rescue cat in the first lockdown and he has become a very well loved member of the family. My little girl was scared of animals so the aim of the cat was to get her used to having an animal around. They are now best friends and it is so cute
He looks grumpy but is so loveable, whilst also being independent so the perfect balance for us as a young family! We got lucky with our Ripley!

These ones are billed as indoor cats, but might try to acclimatise them to traffic as the time comes
