HELP!! Being held to ransom by a stray cat

this sounds ridiculous but I don't know what to do. I'll start off by saying I have lived with cats on and off for last 30 years so am experienced cat wrangler Grin

I have two cats who mostly stay indoors but like a bit sniff about every day in our garden . The last few weeks have seen a small entire tom visiting which they didn't like one bit- lots of stands offs in the garden. After lots of enquiries and he wasn't claimed we trapped him & got him neutered. Have done this many times over the years with strays.

Kept him in shed overnight to recover and after a feed took him to a farm several miles away- know the people there and they are willing to let ferals & strays live in barn etc

10 days later he turns up at the back door again!!!! However he is becoming increasingly aggressive and our cats are frightened to go out. They aren't the only ones as he also goes for me each time I'm out and has made a mess of my legs as he launches himself at me clawing away. My legs are terrible this morning as even with jeans on he's shredded them! Bloody hurt I can tell you

We still have the trap but even though he's been obviously very hungry he won't go inside.
He's there all the time

Well, this was the inevitable outcome! He looks very much at home :)

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/02/2021 12:39

Well you’ve obviously served your arbitrary sentence for removing his Pom-poms and making him walk 14 miles in the cold & now he loves you.

TheLongRider · 03/02/2021 13:36

How does he get on with the other cats? He looks as if he's turned into a right pet.

Gatekeeper · 03/02/2021 14:17

Other cats don't like.him probably because he duffed them up when they left the house. He is different inside as its their territory. He keeps out of the way upstairs so over rime I hope there will be some.kind of truce

I love this thread!! It’s my happy place on the internet right now.

03/01/21 - bitey monster cat is trying to bite my legs off. I need a suit of armour.

06/01/21 - He can stay in shed.

19/01/21 - He nipped in the house.

23/01/21 No he's not sleeping on our bed...only daft Percy is allowed

Today - look at my baby snuggling on the bed helping me feel better

Aw just read this thread how is he getting on now?

Gatekeeper · 13/02/2021 20:51

he's in fine fettle...other cats still hate his guts though!!! Although I rather like him for his tenacity his residence here isn't permanent as I have to think of my old boy first. A friend of mine does cat rescue/fostering/rehoming and she thinks she has the perfect home for him- retired lady at home all day with a lovely secure garden. Experienced cat owner and he will be the only one. Fingers crossed but if this person decided against it then I'll look after him until one does

There's absolutely nothing wrong in his life!

I hope the retired lady lives far away so that he doesn't find his way back to you again. He has some determination.

alltheadrenalin · 13/02/2021 20:58

Aww he's settled in nicely...I'd still sleep with one eye open though

Ibizafun · 13/02/2021 23:30

Gorgeous boy so pleased he’s found a home

Mumdiva99 · 15/02/2021 09:24

I love this story. Although I really think he has chosen you and you alone. He wants to stay.....
