HELP!! Being held to ransom by a stray cat

this sounds ridiculous but I don't know what to do. I'll start off by saying I have lived with cats on and off for last 30 years so am experienced cat wrangler Grin

I have two cats who mostly stay indoors but like a bit sniff about every day in our garden . The last few weeks have seen a small entire tom visiting which they didn't like one bit- lots of stands offs in the garden. After lots of enquiries and he wasn't claimed we trapped him & got him neutered. Have done this many times over the years with strays.

Kept him in shed overnight to recover and after a feed took him to a farm several miles away- know the people there and they are willing to let ferals & strays live in barn etc

10 days later he turns up at the back door again!!!! However he is becoming increasingly aggressive and our cats are frightened to go out. They aren't the only ones as he also goes for me each time I'm out and has made a mess of my legs as he launches himself at me clawing away. My legs are terrible this morning as even with jeans on he's shredded them! Bloody hurt I can tell you

We still have the trap but even though he's been obviously very hungry he won't go inside.
He's there all the time

He’ll be inside before you know it.

Gatekeeper · 19/01/2021 20:53

He was earlier, I was sitting in the back and dh left door open whilst he brought some wood inside
Little cat shot in had a quick wee in litter tray, jumped on my knee ans stuck his head under my hair. He then proceeded to suckle on my ear lobe and milk treaded my jumper whilst I inwardly screamed...waiting for his teeth to sink in. He then chewed my hand , ate our cats nosh and then buggered off leaving me saying "did that really happen"

Ha ha, I love this. He WILL be living in your house soon 💙
Gatekeeper · 23/01/2021 08:00

No he's not sleeping on our bed...only daft Percy is allowed . I wouldn't dare as little black cat very territorial...he had our old boy pinned down by the neck yesterday when he nipped out kitchen window. Im still trying to get a home for him as its obvious he isnt feral and has lived with people. Needs experienced cat owner though and no small children or other cats but nothing coming up

Awww glad he is calming down and hope you have avoided any more cuts .

It did make me laugh though 😂 you cut off his balls and he clearly hunted you down and looked so pissed off .

InsufferableLKIA · 23/01/2021 08:35

OP: this savage animal has wounded me and left mess in need of medical treatment
Litter tray section of MN: Awwww, look at that beautiful boy! 😍😻

I love you guys 🤣

@Gatekeeper

Evening all

Several weeks on and he's still here. His favourite pastime is staring in the patio window...he's been here all through the heavy snow we had. We feed him 4 times a day and he gets some calming down treats that have valerian in. Here he is sitting on my husband's knee in his man shed. Still a little bit bitey but not as bad...not anywhere as bad

Best update ever.

Bless you @Gatekeeper

Fluffycloudland77 · 23/01/2021 13:34

@InsufferableLKIA That’s cat people for you. If ours bit dh I’d defend the cat.

He's staked his claim. You're doomed Grin

MegtheShark · 24/01/2021 16:53

Good luck finding him a home!

Frankly it looks like he has already chosen one. I reckon you could rehome him internationally, and he’d cling on to the underside of a plane to get back 😂

picklemewalnuts · 24/01/2021 16:58

Ah, bless! You've done well, Gatekeeper! Glad he's behaving a bit better. Maybe when he's less stressed he'll be nicer to the actual proper resident cat!

Thanks for the update, my D.C. were asking a few days ago!

Gatekeeper · 24/01/2021 16:59

Three amigos ...until they wake up!

OP posts:
TheGonnagle · 24/01/2021 17:18

And now you’re a three cat family. There was a certain sense of inevitability Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/01/2021 17:25

Well you tried to find him a home. You did your best.

TodgerStrunk · 24/01/2021 18:51

All part of his Grand Plan. Keeping his enemies close and all that, until he can get his revenge for the castration and 14 mile hike.

Or perhaps his hormones have finally abated and he's discovered the joy of general heating.

But you'll never know, will you Grin

Slub · 24/01/2021 19:41

You are a wonderful person @Gatekeeper
He has certainly landed on his paws with you 💐

Dddccc · 24/01/2021 21:02

Aww he is lush i am ne i would have took him but you said no young kids i know there is a cat place near Chester le Street that would take him if you still looking they take in strays all the time

Bargebill19 · 25/01/2021 12:07

He got a hat he wanted - your home! Perhaps he wasn’t actually attacking you, and more trying to attach himself to you, so you had to take home in, like Velcro 🤣🤣🤣
They all look very well looked after !

Gatekeeper · 25/01/2021 13:00

They are VERY well looked after, all my spare cash goes on them which is why I walk round like a ragbag!

Bargebill19 · 25/01/2021 13:07

If reincarnation exists, I want to come back as a cat in a very good household.
This is my feral, Fat Sam today, his first foray inside was last night.

PeanuttButtaCup · 25/01/2021 13:18

@Gatekeeper

Oh dear....
He’s gorgeous!
Ostryga · 25/01/2021 13:31

This might be my favourite thread ever. From utter hooligan to lap cat Grin

Gatekeeper · 03/02/2021 12:25

And here he is several weeks on...
Slept on my bed for the first time and cuddled in all night
