@TheLongRider it was probably already very old or ill. If you can’t see a ginger cat thundering towards you.....

Ollie doesn’t look 13.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 01/02/2021 10:24

The river has (just) encroached the bottom of the garden this morning (only on stage 1 - 'flood alert' so not worried). Cats still allowed out - hopefully we won't get to the point where we have to keep them in (Basil would drive us mad miaowing to get out).
In 2014 we had to keep them in for about three weeks - it was hellish Grin.

My parents' don't get flood alerts, the river comes up to their back doorstep 😱

YetAnotherSpartacus · 01/02/2021 11:29

Where is TC?

QueenPawPaws · 01/02/2021 12:15

You can't see it well but paws just ran to Ollie and gave him a head boop/kiss and they've just trotted off together... my heart

Grin What a lovely start to the month.

@Grumpyoldpersonwithcats Courage mon brave.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 01/02/2021 12:38

Basil is currently cuddling Sybil.

I'm not sure TC should stray onto other threads. I will however provide an update on his his latest bad behaviour today.

The very portrait of domestic harmony and love.

Feel free to offload here about the stresses and strains of your relationship with TC. Managing a superstar isn't all champagne and awards, we know.

In any case, IMHO TV is allowed everywhere. You may disagree.

Supersimkin2 · 01/02/2021 13:53

TC - Jesus, autocorrect cockblocked my joke AGAIN.

QueenPawPaws · 01/02/2021 15:09

I've managed to get my thyroid under control and now have a TSH of 1.59
But because my body hates me, I'm now vitamin d deficient. Level was 9 Blush
Ollie "more SUN mama"

OP posts:
TheLongRider · 01/02/2021 15:17

Vitamin D and B12 deficiencies and wonky cholesterol levels are all part of thyroid dysfunction. It takes longer to get those sorted once your thyroid levels are on track. Anyway it's winter...

QueenPawPaws · 01/02/2021 15:22

I have a nice hefty dose of 20,000 to take twice a week. I would have preferred a nice trip away on prescription Grin

Supersimkin2 · 01/02/2021 18:01

It's brilliant when it kicks in, that vit D. Well done on the TSH, perfect.

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/02/2021 18:18

I’m not showing him that photo Super. I don’t need him having allies.

Maybe I need vit d, I only take rda.

nettie434 · 01/02/2021 18:58

Oh how lovely that Paws and Ollie have gone out together, QueenPawPaws. Fingers crossed the vitamin D levels start rising again soon.

Hope the river doesn't flood any more, Grumpy. Off to see if there is more news about TC's activities.....

YesItsMeIDontCare · 01/02/2021 21:36

Leroy has a new bowl. It's a motion sensor automatic opening one 'cause he eats some and then whinges because it's dried up.

If I have to explain to DH once more that it's IN TRAINING MODE I will have to duct tape his mouth shut.

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/02/2021 21:51

If you only have to tell your partner something once is he even your partner? 🤨

QueenPawPaws · 01/02/2021 21:55

Does DH not have a training mode? Grin

I make no apologies for sharing a silly photo of Basil's tail (while sitting with his back to me on the kitchen table) which I thought was looking particularly fine this evening.

TheSilveryPussycat · 01/02/2021 23:04

Is it pinned on?

Supersimkin2 · 01/02/2021 23:07

Lush, Basil.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 01/02/2021 23:16

Is it pinned on?

Curiously DW asked exactly the same question when I showed her the photograph Grin

QueenPawPaws · 01/02/2021 23:40

Ollie is doing admiring looks at tail photo. His own is rather.. lacking Grin
Paw paws not my cat has a glorious tail but I am not allowed to touch. Occasionally I forget he isn't Ollie and smother him with affection and get a face of HmmHmmHmm

OP posts:
YesItsMeIDontCare · 02/02/2021 00:13

That is actually very true Fluffy. Very similar to children really. And my brother... maybe it's me 🤷🏼‍♀️

DH has been in Training Mode (for most things) since I met him Queen. Leroy has already moved on to "Stage 2" training... DH appears to be stuck in basic.

Basil's tail resembles the fur trim on the hood of my coat Grumpy! The trim is detachable so I sometimes think it's Leroy.

Supersimkin2 · 02/02/2021 09:19

Capn reckons I need a 1-2-1 teaching assistant at all times.
