I love photos of cats in Christmas trees. If I got another, I wonder if there's any way of specifying it must be a Christmas tree climber?

Papergirl1968 · 14/12/2020 22:34

Fab photo, Swampy!
Nobody could be cross with that gorgeous little face peeking at them through the branches... Xmas Smile

YesItsMeIDontCare · 14/12/2020 23:21

I'm quite proud of this one!

Awww Leroy!

QueenPaws · 15/12/2020 00:52

I don't really celebrate Christmas (long story) so no tree.. I don't fancy starting this year with Paws about, can you imagine?!

Paws "ooh shiny. I climb it"
Ollie "MAMAAAAAA HE CLIMBING THINGS"
< crash >
Paws "oops"
Ollie "MAMAAAAAA HE BROKE THINGS"

coastergirl · 15/12/2020 00:56

Queen tbh I think this is a very good reason to get a tree! Think of the entertainment!

swampytiggaa · 15/12/2020 08:01

Tree stayed up all night. Got up to make coffee and heard a crashing noise. Poor Santa has a very wobbly head 😂😂

Planning on getting a couple of lemons when I’m out to put slices around the bottom... has to be worth a try!

nettie434 · 15/12/2020 08:51

Glad to read about Darcy's teeth, Just. All the cat in Christmas tree photos are wonderful. It must be boring replacing Santa's head etc but the photo opportunities are amazing.

Mind you, after Ollie fell off the box yesterday, would it really be safe to have a 'Mama, I climb tree like Paw Paws', scenario?

QueenPaws · 15/12/2020 09:27

Exactly. This is the box he fell off so his risk assessment is pretty poor
Paws has just come for breakfast

So my morning started with clearing up sick off my bedroom carpet from Matt, who missed the tiled bathroom floor by about three inches. And a huge poo from the dog on the (thank god) laminated floor downstairs.
Orange peel might work Coaster.

swampytiggaa · 15/12/2020 12:21

Bugger. Just went to the shop after my run. Knew I needed something. Come home without oranges or lemons for the tree.

Papergirl1968 · 15/12/2020 13:05

Sorry I meant Swampy not Coaster, doh!

swampytiggaa · 15/12/2020 20:24

Possible tree for next year for me?

Walter is lying on my legs and they have gone dead. He's so heavy!

Ugh I need advice. I keep contemplating adopting another kitty. I think Walter is lonely. I swore no more pets after what happened to Bertie. It hurts so badly when something happens to them. But the rescue Walter came from are constantly posting about cats and kittens needing homes, and I do love the idea of getting to know another. But I also know that I was so lucky with my cats so far in how easily they were house trained. My friend got a cat and he sprayed all over, even after being neutered. This would be awful!

My head is all over the place.

TheLongRider · 15/12/2020 23:57

You'll do what's right for you.

We've always been of the opinion that we try and give a cat a home rather than leave it in a shelter. Honestly, there's no right answer and most of our cats have been absolute gits in some form! DH and I were discussing if we attract particularly defective cats.

Is there any possibility of fostering with the option to adopt? Then you get to see if Walter gets on with a new cat without committing fully unless you really want to.

Justonedayatatime11 · 16/12/2020 08:01

coastergirl my foster boy will be looking for a new home in the new year Grin

YesItsMeIDontCare · 16/12/2020 08:49

Oh shit. DSD has had flowers for a funeral delivered here. It makes perfect sense to do that... but there's lilies in them. Got them 'til Friday too.

Any ideas?

TheLongRider · 16/12/2020 09:29

Keep them in a room the cats don't usually go into such as a downstairs loo if you have one. Otherwise pinch off the stamens, that's the poisonous part. It won't ruin the look of them.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 16/12/2020 11:11

No room the spoilt bugger doesn't go in to! They are currently wedged up high in the porch surrounded by stuff that will

a. Catch pollen, and
b. Stop him from jumping up.

Hopefully.

He's currently sulking on our bed though - wet stuff coming out of the sky Mummy 🙀.

swampytiggaa · 16/12/2020 18:50

Cats are liking their new bed 🙂

Ollie "I think I feel a bit sick mama"
Me HmmConfusedHmmHmmHmmHmm
We have come to the vet anyway as he needed his steroid jab and they're giving him antibiotics just in case. Tummy soft and no obvious issues
He's having a cuddle from the vet who treated his triaditis and seems quite perky Angry

TheLongRider · 16/12/2020 19:42

Swampytigga, Is it always the same two cats together? Where is the third girl cat?

swampytiggaa · 16/12/2020 20:37

It’s Wednesday and Gomez that like the radiator bed. Morticia is usually on Victoria’s bed instead.

Usually Wednesday is in the bed then Gomez decides she wants to get on so she climbs on top. Think I have seen all three in there... just off to look through my photos!

swampytiggaa · 16/12/2020 20:42

Nope it’s generally Wednesday and Gomez in there 😂😂
