Please can I ask for fingers and paws to be crossed for Darcy tomorrow? I spoke to another vet today who treats Darcys brother/relations who are still with Darcys breeder. We're going to try a hefty steroid jab tomorrow afternoon and see if it kickstarts her breathing which may be what's making her unwell atm. I also need to try and find a way to get her potassium supplement into her (it's a paste) and she's not currently eating wet food so can't mix it in that. Any suggestions?

SiL had to give a paste medicine to one of hers, and she smeared it on the top of the cat's front paws - cat promptly licked it all off.

We do the paw smearing thing with Kittymalt. One of the girls then believes it renders her paw unusable so hot foots it out of the cat flap on 3 legs, then proceeds to furiously wash it off!

It didn’t work on our departed boy though. He tucked his leg under him and the bedding got it instead.

Any reason why Ollie would suddenly have started drinking rain water? I mean apart from being weird..
He's been driving me mad pestering to go out, opened the window and he sat licking the bench outside where the water had gathered then happily came back in

Ok, I may be a really bad cat owner but the paste comes in a pump and I managed to very slowly get 2 pumps directly into her mouth . She is thoroughly unimpressed, but it did entice her to go and eat half a sachet of wet food

Mine have eleventy billion bowls of fresh water absolutely everywhere and 9 times out of 10 they still prefer to drink from the waterbutt or one of the outside bowls full of rainwater . Bloody weirdos!

He's never done it before in his life and now I find him licking the bloody window because there's rain on it

Walter definitely prefers to drink puddles. So did Bertie. Maybe Ollie is just a bit late to the party.

Hope everyone is doing ok. We're still waiting on test results. Little one is ok but his temperature is up and down.

Maybe Paws told him it tastes better?

Charlie! That's cheered me up. I'm honestly ok. Very very mild cough. And yes better now than at Christmas. Just so fed up of being off work all the time. I suppose it's inevitable really. I work with kids who can't socially distance at all.

I've attempted to trim ollies back claws. I read they bite them down so I was "oh Ollie you so lazy"

I've got a Darcy back . 3 doses of potassium supplement and her breathing is steady and more relaxed, she's eating wet food and much more alert. I am so relieved and also slightly gobsmacked!
