New thread!
I’ve found two so much more hard work (and expensive) than one, Queen

He's doing a makeover.

Capn V had a sausage roll off the kitchen top in the night. Came back today and he was still snoring it off in the centre of the bed. Very proud.

Girlcat was doing unconcerned by lying half on me getting belly rubs. Unfortunately this meant she was kneading away rather enthusiastically with very sharp claws, so my left boob feels like a well used pin cushion. Exacerbated by the fact that I'm avoiding wearing a bra at the mo because it presses on the ex-George wound, so the cute little needles were going through a rather thin jersey top (think thin t-shirt fabric) directly into somewhat delicate flesh.

She was VERY indignant when I finally had enough & moved her!

You moved her? How rude!!!

Wear a jumper. Less shameful all round than a leather gauntlet or jerkin Grin

I'd not long had my neighbour round changing the dressing on the op site, & hadn't got round to putting my cardi back on. I wasn't trying to get her OFF me, just trying to shuffle her into a slightly better position, honest guv! I was hoping she could change her kneading spot to my arm or leg like she normally uses.

I seem to be forgiven now anyway, she's lying draped along the back of the sofa displaying the furry heaven that is her belly & purring if I stroke her.

She luffs you. She is healing you.

In her own way Grin Furry moral support always the best.

I am in favour this am after serving Two Breakfasts before 7am.

About to deal with charity chaos. Everyone fit as a fiddle and under 30 has panicked and is WFH. Workplace deserted at 0 notice. My mate who is HIV+ is insisting on turning up to keep show on road. After a few hours of being coughed on by the needy, I cracked and booted her out.

Allergictoironing · 18/03/2020 09:05

Good luck with the charity chaos! Amazing how many people seem to need to self-isolate just in case that single cough from a stranger the other side of the room was the Cough Of Doom, yet others can merrily go on their way because they bloody well need to.

I will be safe from the needles today if she decides to knead, as I have donned The Garment Of Protection, AKA a somewhat saggy soft old bra. This isn't protection for me from the needles, more that I need milk & bread and if I swing round in a hurry when shopping I could put someone's eye out if un-tethered.

Do you get full pay?. I’m a home bird and I’m bored.

Report
Allergictoironing · 18/03/2020 09:10

At least that means you have more time for Ollie to gaze adoringly at you, every cloud & all that.

Time to develop a binge-watching habit methinks...

I do, it's still a bit up in the air as to whether I'll be working from home or not
I have two cleaning assistants...

Was it automatic? Dh is motor trade and fits the self isolation for 3 months criteria but I can’t see his company paying him sick pay for that.

I never imagined we’d be in this situation.

Paws looks enormous!
I’ve just lifted Matt down after finding him sitting by the kitchen sink. It’s a constant battle of wills. He jumps up. I get him down. And repeat.

Have you tried the tin foil on the side experiment yet?
Apparently it works a treat, in some cases Grin

Socks freaks out every time I use tinfoil, Matt doesn’t seem bothered but it’s an idea. I’ll give it a go.
His baldy patch is still there. It’s really weird the way it feels bristly like the hairs have been cut short, but the skin underneath isn’t damaged. I’m still convinced he is catching it when squeezing under or past something in one of the gardens.
Socks is taking her duties as coronavirus nurse very seriously. She cuddles up next to me in bed and keeps me entertained when I’m awake. Although I could have done without her galloping up and down the stairs at 100mph at 6am!

Have you got The Unmentionable Paper? Get better soon, sweetly. Shout if you need owt.

What about norty Matt jumping up. It must be a hell of a job getting him down. He loves it.

I've got to self-isolate. 1pm on Day 1 and I'm considering a quick course at Harvard (free, do it), rather than painting the hall.

If you are bored and you want to impress people with what you've done when isolating, google edX. World's top universities run their courses free online, and you can do them quick and get a certficate.

For the unpainted hall Grin Or I might watch Netflix Grin Grin

I don’t know if I’ve got it or not but on balance I suspect I probably do. I did have a headache but that’s gone now. Cough isn’t continuous but has gradually got worse over the last few days. Feeling shivery and cold most of the time, but occasionally hot. General aches and pains. Feeling weak and doing the slightest thing like having a shower makes me feel wiped out.
Have been napping a lot.

Bloody hell @Papergirl1968 look after yourself sweetheart.

@ClientQueen well done. Give it a go, Fluffy. They're bound to have a standard email by now they can customise and send DH.

There has been panic buying in M&S. It was rammed, which was unusual & embarrassing as I was in 'loungewear', no meat or bread.

Managed to scuttle out with yellow sticker chow meins and Dreamies. On the upside, everyone took one look at the tartan PJs and wild hair and steered clear Grin

Been to Asda this afternoon. Car park was about the same as normal for that time of day, if anything fewer people in the actual store. Every type of cold & flu remedy gone, obviously no loo roll or kitchen roll, eggs decimated, pasta both dried & fresh decimated (though did get some "fresh" with a use by of May!), no sliced bread only a very few loaves of in-store baked. Milk running low, butter hammered, no sausages, most fresh meat gone. Tinned stuff like beans & spag bol completely vanished.

However plenty of fresh fish (rainbow trout for dinner tonight!), I have no problem slicing my own bread, as said above pasta, barbeque slow cooked pork, plenty of chocolate (hooray). sufficient milk for over a week. And a Maccy D's on the way out because why not Grin

Just had my wound check appt with the nurse at my GPs cancelled as they are avoiding having anyone not desperate coming in, and only have to get it checked if I have concerns e.g. hot, red or swollen.
