I discovered a new own-brand ice cream flavour Asda today - peach, apricot & raspberry. Unfortunately feeling a bit ill as had to eat it all, came home to find I hadn't properly shut the freezer last time I took something out, and it had iced up so badly that the door was no longer closable.

Freezer now defrosting, all the food in it had gone soggy (not been in it for at least 2-3 days), had to throw out all the food that wasn't either so embedded in the new ice it was unmovable, or in the draw that had iced shut. Rubbish day is early tomorrow morning, so the remainder will probably be hanging around in the bin for up to 2 weeks . There wasn't an awful lot in there, but it's irritating and I was looking forwards to the sausages.

Sod it Allergic, every freezer throws a hissy fit now and then. See it as nature's way of getting the stuff from 1932 out of your life - you dodged a bullet with those sausages, love.

I am a bad, neglectful, cat parent.
I posted a pic of Matt’s baldy side recently, saying I thought he was catching it on a fence or something.
Someone, and I can’t remember who, suggested fleas. They were right. He’s alive with them.
He’s been treated now, as has Socks, with that squirty stuff on the back of the neck, but I feel awful that I really didn’t realise. I hadn’t seen him grooming more than usual until the last day or two 😿

Sometimes you don't notice because they're not showing the usual symptoms, don't beat yourself up. He'll be better very shortly.

Lana the sausages only went in there less than 2 weeks ago, when they were on offer .Freezer is only a couple of years old, so nothing ridiculous in there. Sadly when the old one died I was stony broke & had to buy the cheapest one I could, now I seem to be paying for it as this is the second time the door has failed to seal and I've never had the problem with any other freezer. Never buy Fridgemaster people!

I am downstairs very late this am. Every single time I went to get moving this morning 5.8k of black fur would ooze up to me and stare into my eyes soulfully. Lost count of the number of cuddles we had. Took his sister marching up and yelling imperiously at him to get him off the bed.

Allergic 9.50 is not very late! You should see what time I sometimes roll out of bed. Kitty cuddles are far more important anyway.

9:50 was once I'd managed to distract the fluffy ooze, got dressed, fed them, and made TEA.

I'm feeling very lazy these days if I'm not at least cuddling Boycat by 8am, and drinking tea by 9am. And anyway, my bladder usually insists I wake up no later than 7:30am

My bladder wakes me up too, but I just go back to bed - admittedly harder on sunny mornings.
I must get moving instead of lounging about on mumsnet and Facebook at noon...sigh

Yeah, we can starve but the cats absolutely must have their supplies 😁.

Cat soup was at the very top of my shopping list yesterday. They get most of their food & treats via Zooplus deliveries, but we've only recently discovered that soup is The Best Thing Evah as compensation for when the slave goes out shopping. Luckily they aren't too fussy about it having to be Cosma, Sheba does them just fine.

This was zooplus, v quick delivery! The baby pate is easy to eat for toothless and calorie loaded
He's currently outside doing big eyes at my neighbour (he knows she has a pocket of dreamies)

He is a recent convert! Fred is being a very loyal stable cat and takes his role seriously, sitting in the arena when lessons are going on
Ginge is being pampered but likes to patrol the fields during the day for anything to catch and also to annoy Fred

Will you visit the stables again when this is all over?

I'm not sure. I haven't been back TBH, not been able to face it
