I’ve found two so much more hard work (and expensive) than one, Queen

Ollie sends a hug to anyone needing one

What a lovely boy he is.

capn V's on me - tail starting to thump cos I haven't got the dreamies out fast enough on waking.

London's absolutely beautiful in lockdown - you can see for miles (no pollution), air like crystal, and in the parks all the ducks and squirrels have taken over and are promenading down the tree-lined paths with their families.

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/04/2020 16:19

I never feel the loss of Asbo more than when dh is playing guitar through stadium spec Marshall Amps. Asbo would never have put up with 2 hours of guitar playing.

It would have been dealt with.

Supersimkin2 · 01/04/2020 17:34

Oh Fluffy.

That is the most exquisite elegy to anyone I have ever read. True, asbo's unique people skillz can never be forgotten by those who were lucky enough to know him.

Sad Grin

Rumours abound there will be power cuts at random throughout lockdown UK this week. How unfortunate if one were to afflict your household by means of a dodgy fuse or similar unpredictable household mishap.

Capn V has just shat on the floor. I hope it's just overeating. He is very dainty otherwise tho' - checked I was watching before he politely wiped his arse on the carpet before jumping back into bed.

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/04/2020 19:20

Well Capn V is certainly relaxing isn’t he?. It’s like weeing in front of your partner for the first time.

Supersimkin2 · 01/04/2020 21:38

He's got the trots - cut feeding down and he hasn't made much of a fuss, which is sort of good news.

I hope and trust DH feels his performance has delighted you long enough.

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/04/2020 22:03

Maybe his system isn’t accustomed to m&s yet?.

Allergictoironing · 01/04/2020 22:14

A dispute has broken out chez Allergic. After ignoring it all winter, both cats have decided that the bestest place in the whole wide world is the igloo - note singular.

If Boycat is in there, Girlcat clambers half on top so the sides collapse on him to encourage him to leave in a panic. He is now wise to this after a few days & ignores being very slightly squished. He is less pushy than Girlcat (she's DEFINITELY the boss) so when she hogs it for too long he sticks his head in & meeps at her, which she ignores.

Both have been observed bouncing around playfully & more noisily than usual near the igloo, tempting the other to play. The moment the occupant leaves for a game the first one jumps up & in. Today Girlcat managed to get her front half including feet into the igloo while Boycat was already curled up in there.

Now awaiting delivery of a second igloo, which they will probably ignore. But at least that will mean they lose interest in the original one as well!

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/04/2020 22:17

I think it will solve the issue. Neither will want either igloo.

Unless you wait till winter and put a heat pad in one.

ClientQueen · 01/04/2020 22:31

Ollie has clambered in this bed. After 4 months. Paws sniffed it so now Ollie must sleep in it ConfusedHmm
You can tell he is hating every minute

Cats do sibling rivalry so well!

Supersimkin2 · 01/04/2020 22:55

Well done Allergic how are you feeling? Ollie does comfort like a Byzantium Sultan. We are slaves to his skills.

If anyone likes funny theatre, the National are livestreaming A Boss and Two Guvnors tomorrow at 7pm. Even watching the stream normally costs £20 quid. This time it's free, bring your own Dreamies.

@Supersimkin2 I've set an alarm in my phone to watch that. Need the distraction.

@fluffy I'm sorry you are missing Asbo so much. It's horrible.

Two traps have been set in the garden of my old house for Bertie, by the rescue he came from. I just have a bad feeling it's not going to work. I feel like he's gone 😢

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/04/2020 08:11

Two traps is brilliant, he can’t just have vanished.

Papergirl1968 · 02/04/2020 09:38

Aww Coaster, we are all keeping our fingers crossed for you and Bertie.
Thinking of you too, Fluffy.
Flowers for you both x

Ooh it has James corden in it too. Love him. He said the holly oaks cast weren't very nice to him & look at him now!.

Cats are so jealous of each other, if dh said hello to next doors ginger cat at night he’d wake up from a deep sleep with a look of outrage on his face.

Supersimkin2 · 02/04/2020 10:15

@coastergirl sweetie, we will all be with you sending vibes to Bert.

No one vanishes into thin air. Even a cat. You must be miserable, I'm so sorry, but it's early days, it really is. Two traps a very smart move.

@Fluffy asbo really dedicated himself into the noble task of setting boundaries for DH and policing appropriate behaviour. Countless cat hours were spent in training, supervision and testing. His HR management remains the masterclass for us all.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 02/04/2020 11:09

[Asbo] flowers.

All the best finding Bert, Papergirl.

Lana - are you still going sticker spotting every day? I've been hoping that you are managing to stock up do you can go out less given that you are living in a hot-spot.

Papergirl1968 · 02/04/2020 11:32

You mean Coaster, Spartacus Smile

OP posts:
YetAnotherSpartacus · 02/04/2020 11:37

I do too! I am so sorry. I do of course know you and your cats apart.

Putting all my teaching online has utterly fried my brain.

Supersimkin2 · 02/04/2020 12:07

I am thrilled to report that the manager of M&S took me aside and informed me that were I to attend the store at 9:50 pm, the reductions would be the 'best ever'.

I am now operating an extensive Sticker Scheme for various mates who need a dash of yellow joy in their lives. No-contact deliveries, natch. Have been known to supply wine too.

Papergirl1968 · 02/04/2020 12:26

Don’t worry, Spartacus I’m familiar with fried brains and I’m not even working at the moment Grin
Lana you clearly know the right people. Do let us know what yellow sticker bargains you get!
Cap V will think it’s his birthday Smile

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/04/2020 12:47

That’s the level of service you expect from M&S. Good on him.

I’ve reached the level of bored but unable to concentrate. I can’t even look for a new bra without feeling slightly overwhelmed by the process.

Supersimkin2 · 02/04/2020 12:58

The novelty's wearing off, innit.

All the experts say get a routine so you don't go nuts. Well doing nothing and not taking any exercise is lovely, if you ask me, but I have been doing the 4 Cs daily, a personal schedule I invented.

Every day during lockdown I do all four of these before collapsing in pants and a bedsock.

Create - I've now planted 150 bulbs and seeds in a flat the size of a fag packet. Capn V hasn't weed in his tray for days.

Kind - yes I can spell it really. Support my mate who is barmy with stress.

Crap - as in job, one utterly shit household task. Scraping the bum of the undersink cupboard or similar. Where does all the dirt come from? I only did it five years ago.

Culture - not netflix, eg Philosophy now podcast - has to be poncetastic. Still counts if the internet goes down after 3 min, yayay.

Allergictoironing · 02/04/2020 13:03

I'm strangely in a better place than I've been for ages - I think it may be because there is absolutely nothing I can do to control the situation (bar sticking to the rules of course) so anything that goes wrong isn't MY fault this time.

All I can do is slob at home cuddling cats all day; I can't work or even job hunt, and do have enough money to live on for a fair bit longer if needs must. In a happy enough place that I have postponed counselling as no point when I'm not in a bad place, and there's plenty of people out there who are in much greater need right now for the much reduced help that's available.

OK so I won't get my shoulder done as no non-emergency operations but as I'm not doing much that hurts much less than it did. And having got rid of George just before everything went mad I'm now fully recovered from that with only a faint red line remaining.

On the down side, the new igloo just arrived and I'd gone & ordered the wrong size so it won't fit where I want to put it. Have ordered another one a bit smaller, and need to find a place for the large one where it will be used.
