New thread!
I’ve found two so much more hard work (and expensive) than one, Queen

Lana - I find BBC 4 documentaries can do the "culture" one quite well. Just watched a 30 minute segment on making Samurai swords in the traditional way. Then there's plenty of art stuff of all types, and Digging for Britain with the lovely Alice Roberts (girl crush time for me).

Supersimkin2 · 02/04/2020 13:38

Oh yes, BBC4 is cracking isn't it, I love the pop art docs. So glad George has finally vanished, and doing 0 is clearly what you and your health need.

Slobbing and cat cuddling is very good for everyone, I reckon. We all work too hard.

Allergictoironing · 02/04/2020 14:01

My automatic "go to" when I turn the TV on is using the catch up to see what was on BBC4 the previous day. Got an Alistair Sooke on Pop Art, and a documentary about van Meergeren, lined up for later today.

Added bonus is no ad breaks, so don't disturb any kitty who may be having a cuddle to use the fast forward Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/04/2020 14:18

The van Meergeren doc is very good, I love that presenter.

The Scot bloke who does all the Scottish history programs though, don’t like him at all. He doesn’t make it interesting enough. They need someone like Simon Sebag or Simon Schama to do those.

Emma is on onionplay. It’s a really watchable adaption & bill nighy is in it.

Supersimkin2 · 02/04/2020 14:30

Bill Nighy counts as culture. Grin

Just signed up. Capn V helpfully slapped the 'I am human' captcha.

TheLongRider · 02/04/2020 20:31

Watching One Man Two Guvnors while trying to cook dinner.

Papergirl1968 · 02/04/2020 20:42

Evening in, Lana? Hope you’re not in your PJs just yet - it’s nearly yellow sticker time!

In PJs in bed with wine, a massive ginger tomcat and chocolate digestives.

Might give yellow sticker a miss tonight Gin

A recent lurker and sad cat ex-slave here (can't own a cat atm for many reasons). Just popping in to say I love teaching the stories of you and your furry overlords.

Please, if you are watching content from the National Theatre or similar, could you consider making a donation? Maybe not directly to the Nat, but perhaps to your local theatre that probably doesn't get much funding? Theatres are pretty screwed right now, and it's likely we're going to lose a lot of them before we come out of this.

Supersimkin2 · 02/04/2020 21:41

Tell me about it. I work free for our local theatre, who are brilliant and win awards. But how they survive won't be pretty.

That was a jolly play, eh wot.

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/04/2020 21:48

I loved that play. Really enjoyed watching that. I was hoping Christine was really an actress & she was.

Papergirl1968 · 02/04/2020 22:23

But Lana, u were tipped the wink by the manager, no less!
On the other hand, biscuits in bed with Cap V sounds tempting.
It’s a tough call!

Jane Eyre's on next week and Joseph & Dreamcoat on today at Lloyd Webber youtube. I will do my duty and go for the reductions tonight, promise. Fridays are always good.

@Fluffycloudland77 I stayed up till 2am grooming a massive purry orange pom pom & watching Emma. Fantastic.

Whiny Geriatric Mr Wodehouse was based on JA's mother. Award-winning hypochondriac, she cost her children a fortune in doc fees and outlived them. Died aged 93 from overeating.

Papergirl1968 · 03/04/2020 11:08

Sounds like the perfect way to go!

Any news on Bertie? @coastergirl.

coastergirl · 03/04/2020 19:16

No 😢 I miss him so much. It's been a week since anyone saw him.

TheLongRider · 03/04/2020 19:21

I'm so sorry, have a handhold from over here.

Supersimkin2 · 03/04/2020 22:23

Horrible and worrying, you poor thing.

Daffodil Keeping the faith with you @coastergirl. Daffodil

coastergirl · 03/04/2020 22:46

Thank you all.

nettie434 · 03/04/2020 22:54

Crossing my fingers for Bertie’s reappearance too Coastergirl. There was a thread here a couple of months ago where a cat turned up after the owner really had given up hope. Hope this is going to be the same.

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/04/2020 09:49

Damnit I was hoping he’d been trapped. I will keep praying for him every day. It’s mild, there’s less people and cars around plus there’s loads of naive young mice around. It all counts in his favour.

We have been prioritised for home shopping, I was so relieved I cried and emailed them to say thank you Blush A weight has been lifted off my shoulders.

Papergirl1968 · 04/04/2020 11:16

Aww, Coaster, I feel for you. It’s the not knowing that’s the worst. I hope Fluffy is right and he’s got spring fever.
Fluffy good news about your shopping. What a relief.

I'm going to show off like mad that I've nearly met The Girl who Got A Delivery Slot.
