New boy cat arrives on Friday, a one-year old tabby boy currently under the moniker of "Bobby". I don't have a proper picture yet.

I trotted the 400ft to the chemist with Ollie trailing behind me
Asked for soluble painkillers then had to resort to pen and paper. Hoping the antibiotics kick in soon

Try and get some rest today and keep up those warm fluids. Hope Ollie treated you to some Strepsils.

Blimey. I've missed quite a lot of Cat Chat! Hope everyone had a good Christmas... we were all ill, Leroy didn't care! He did like his present though.

I hope all of you who are I'll recover quickly with special care from your furry nurses.

I was in a café today as part of an extra-long cycling challenge (Rapha's Festive 500km, done!) and met this lovely cuddly boy. He hopped up beside me and decided I was the nicest person in the place.

When I left, the cat was being swamped by a gang of small children who were fussing over him happily. He wasn't at all bothered.

Thanks, it's what I do. I'm a middle-agrd woman who likes cycling long distances! I'll never be a 5'10" blonde supermodel, but I can cycle all day. Play to your strengths!

I'm currently on the sofa, about to cook dinner with a nice gin and tonic. The problem with all the cycling is that I have absolutely no alcohol tolerance.

I do fuel in other ways though, this little guy came along for the ride today.

Being anybody's after a lone G&T is a boon in life. I failed my Cycling Proficiency test ramming the instructor. I am massively impressed both with your light head and fairy pedalling feet.

Little K had cheese for the first time ever. I was awake until 4am being petitioned for more. Feet and hands in ribbons. Little kitteny nibbles, had to sleep with one leg out of the bed..

Hope you're feeling a bit less weedy Queen and stay in that bed being ignored by your care staff. :)

I have 2 very sulky kitties - not only did I Go Out today for over 5 hours, but I brought Another Person (DSis who they know pretty well) into the house with me who stayed for 3 hours. This is NOT what they expect from their slave!

Unfortunately for both me & them, we're going to have to do it all again soon. I'd gone for the excision of a lump on my ribs that they couldn't decide whether it was a lypoma or a cyst (def NOT cancer), but once they'd got in & sliced down to it they said it was so deeply embedded that they couldn't continue with local anaesthetic, so I'm going to have to have a new date & have a general . At least they know now that it IS a cyst not a lypoma, but this makes it a more tricky op as with it being so deep they can't risk it breaking during removal & oozing pus over my innards [sigh].

Local wearing off now, and gods do my ribs ache!

If it's not someone being shot outside the house, or a lamborghini crash as driven by a snowman (really), it's sodding rocket time as set off by local twat teens.

Now the smoke alarm's gone off. Twice.

Well now, the local big house had fireworks at 5pm. A good show, but my most nervous cat is currently jittering in a corner. New Year's Eve and Halloween set him off.

Lana I could cope with a fat bird & fat feral kitten - but not sure what my Overlords would say! Especially about the kitten...

Fireworks here started about an hour ago, and if the last few years are anything to go by they will go off intermittently until about 2am. I have added 2 Nytol tablets to my nightly drugs, and am considering replacing my super strength co-codamol with Tramadol as I gather that can knock some people out. Cats don't give one about the fireworks going off - Boycat has just had a long cuddle & Girlcat is on the back of the sofa eyeing up her favorite cuddles perch.
